One thing stuck out: pussy = pusillanimous = timid or cowardly. Completely unrelated to the female genitalia. It’s where we get the term ‘pussy cat’ from. A vagina cat would be awkward. A timid cat? Quite common.

As always, this art section is one of my favorite posts of the week. Mad props to this dude! I loved the wide shot of the mountains—gorgeous!

That’s not true, that’s impossible!

Cheap shot is cheap.

Windwaker <3 Ocarina is a close second. I just loved the music and the aesthetic and the sailing feature, you just felt more free than in any other Zelda game to this day. Here’s hoping ZeldaU blows that standard away.

Wow. WOOOOOOW. A trailer hasn’t made me grin and get chills like that in a while. The last one was The Force Awakens and that more than delivered. I hope this and Civil War blow our minds.

Wow, get a [chat]room.

Holy shit. I swear this wasn’t doctored in any way, I just voted for Destiny and it tied it perfectly. Unless there’s been a glitch in the system, which is a little bit more likely, but if it’s real that would be super impressive.

There’s always one other right-winger in the comments. Brother! I found ya!

I thought you meant the actor???

Heheh, that was beautiful humor and I’m ashamed I missed it the first time around.

Yeah the platinum demo wasn’t the seller that Duscae was for me, but I enjoyed it enough that I thought “ya know, if the rest of the game is something like this, I won’t be disappointed a bit.” Hyping games to legendary status has never ended well.

Haha exactly. And it’s funny, but the ATB system from X-2 was such a huge turn off to me, actually. X was my first in the series, and jumping from the carefully measured CTB system to “holy shit I need to click things” was just a pain in the arse. Going back and playing VII and VIII helps me see that they handled it

ATB is miles different from the traditional turn based system. They look very similar from the perspective of the UI but playstyles are radically different, I mean radically different. ATB is closer to real time combat than it is to traditional turn based RPG combat.

Sure, 1-3 were similar, 4-9 were similar, 10 stood out, and 11-15 are similar. But we have a lot of the comments here claiming that Final Fantasy XV isn’t going back to its roots as a battle system, and I just find that comment ridiculous. What roots? It’s roots are in traditional turn based battle. But you have

Have you played Duscae and the Platinum demo? Having put way more time into those than the developers intended, I feel like they understand the magic and idea of whimsy that need to go into this game.

That’s perfectly fair. What with the state of video gaming these days, I almost chickened out of a preorder as well... but then I did, because I’m a sucker for steelbook cases.

I haven’t played them all, but I thought I-IV were standard turn based, and then V-IX were ATB, with X being CTB, and XI-XV being variations of RTB. I can see people arguing that turn based and ATB are similar enough to cry for consistency, but I don’t really see it.

A lot of people are going on about the combat specifically. To me that’s never been the driving factor in what made a Final Fantasy game. I mean, the three I’ve put the most time into have been X, Type-0, and VIII. There is zero consistency in terms of combat for the series, especially once it made the move to 3D.

They ARE until someone says otherwise. Hm. This is what fans are for.
