I think ‘assistant’ bots usually use female voices or characters cos they’re perceived as friendly and nonthreatening. OMG i swear my Alexa does not listen to us when we say please and thank you. She only responds correctly when we use a command voice which feels to rude
I do this too but I am also that person who apologizes to inanimate objects when I bump into them and thank my car for not stalling.
When we ask Alexa for something in our house, we add “please” at the end.
