I knew the game was going to be “just fine” when the first controllable scene with your character involves your escape pod landing on a guy who was trying to guide you to a safe landing spot.

I got the same level of excitement when I looked up the menu music on youtube and found out the composer is Justin Bell (of Pillars of Eternity fame). I’ve listened to that soundtrack dozens of times, so I’m very excited for the music.

Totally agreed-my experience was the same. There are some real diamonds in the rough quests (the ice cavern AI was really cool!) but the developers make them so difficult to find. I also spent the last part of the game skipping side stuff and wondering if I was missing cool questlines (but not curious enough to wade

Mass Effect Andromeda is the perfect example of a game to enjoy “as much as you choose to.” There is a lot of great stuff in that game-there is just a lot of pointless fetch quest type stuff layered on top of it before you get there. Once I made peace with the fact that much of the side stuff could be safely ignored,

You’re right of course, and generally all other reviews I’ve seen have been positive, it was just a bit of a downer for this to be the first article I read no more than 30 minutes after dropping 50 quid on the game.

I’m surprised to read this. From the couple other reviews I’ve read, they seemed to think the choices in The Outer Worlds were not so cut-and-dry. In any case, I plan to see for myself this weekend. I’ve been looking forward to this game for a long time. I love the idea of playing a CRPG, but I always get bored when I

Hey guys, The Witcher 3 is a really good game!

Finished off Battlefield: Bad Company 2 earlier this week, which was slicker but not as entertaining as the first one.

Been going pretty heavily on DC Universe Online lately, they’ve got some Halloween content that’s pretty fun. Now all of my alts are at 30 or above.

I’m currently downloading The Outer Worlds via Microsot Game Pass for only a dollar a month.

Remnant: From The Ashes. That friend and I got really into so we even started planning game sessions in the evening whenever our schedules allowed (is this growing up?). Managed to get in several hours that way, enough that we actually beat the game a first time.
It’s not a very long game and meant to be replayed

“He’s a hunky young Hitler Youth just defrosted from Project Gefrorener Verlierer. She’s the spunky young DA forced to stay within ten feet of him at gunpoint. Together, they’re selling spiked carmel apples in this season’s hilarous new procedural!”

Dewey, Autumn, & HOWE!

I finished Resident Evil 4 on my Switch, a game I had never played for more than 5 minutes before despite it releasing on every platform ever. It was pretty great! I almost quit like 10 minutes in because I was having a tough time getting used to the smoother-than-early-RE but still tank-y controls, but thankfully I

There’s some satisfying payoff at the end of 1-5, but it’s just a giant slog to get there - punctuated by some good jokes and fun puzzles and such, but MAAAAAAN, they just keep dangling the case’s conclusion out of reach. There are definitely other weak missions in the original trilogy, but none of them are quite as

That’s a lot of advice, I appreciate it immensely! Thank you thank you.

I also finished Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney this week (on Steam). I did find the post-credits bonus case “Rise from the Ashes” to drag a lot more compared to the three Turnabout cases. I love the sheer insanity of everything, especially in the proper final case. I mean, what other type of game could have this be a

Broken record starting up over here: still playing Gwent (a couple of wins away from making the top rank again), which has a new expansion coming at the end of the month, still replaying Final Fantasy XV (about to jump into Episode Gladiolus), but I actually didn’t play that at all this past week, as my Gwent interest
