on the one hand it seems like a waste of resources having two similar things going simultaneously. on the other hand it’s a really good thing since politically you never know what could happen so it may be best to do it this way since one election / regime change can effectively end a whole joint program.

that’s how EVs started and they weren’t necessarily successful. nissan leaf, mitsubishi IMEV, fiat 500e (although that was a cafe compliance car)

I suspect something else will be put in it's place just to put trumps name on the bill instead of biden. Like more subsidies but remove the income cap or the msrp cap on the car.

wouldn’t the end of the tax credit further increase depreciation of the used EVs? If uncle sam isn’t giving you 4k on the backend now you have 4k less to spend at the dealership. The dealers will make the same amount of profit by lowering trade in prices.

yeah if goodwill wants ebay prices for stuff i’m sure unclaimed baggage will be similar...

on top of the fact that almost nothing can outrun it.

the pure starts at 70k now  still more expensive than the base price chevy tahoe but it’s in the ballpark.

this looks absolutely Sick.

i find it interesting that the first generation passports all came with 20 inch wheels and the second gen is going 18" only according to this post. wonder what made honda shy away from 20s. i know the 18s make sense for the trailsport. i just find it interesting.

I think it is important to have local control of safety standards! While it is annoying in its’s current state imagine how annoying it would be if there was a new safety technology that your country  wanted adopt in your country but first you have to convince Japan, EU, China ect to adopt it as well??

I’m not a Tesla fanboy but tesla having half of GM’s revenue while only making four vehicles is crazy. GM makes dozens of vehicles across the globe. That is a lot of potential for growth as they eventually fill out their lineup.

I was likely willing to see past the Elon musk controversies and still consider a tesla before this year but after all of these shenanigans i’m likely to never buy a tesla ever.

used car better value than new car:  you don’t say? these are luxury cars you buy them because you like them and you can afford it. If you want value don’t buy a luxury car.

Jalopnik has been very open about these “what car should I buy” posts being super delayed by about 6 months.  this is actually for entertainment purposes only.

Passport was going to be my suggestion as well!

agreed! Traveled the area doing IT out of my prius and fit so much crap in there! My boss had a grand cherokee and he could fit only marginally more stuff mostly because the ceiling is taller and he had a roof rack to put large ladders on top.

This car was the peak of this era of Cadillac’s styling. This car is more cool than it is fast but it is very cool.  But sadly every bad thing you ever heard about the northstar v8 is true.  While there are a good number of people who never had any problems with theirs the failure rate is just too damn high to drop

61k is actually a fantastic price considering a rav4 prime is over 50k!

i was driving 80 and nissan versa passed me...... eventually on the interstate. People will speed no matter how slow their cars are! if anything making them less capable makes them less safe!

150 shot of nitrous is all you need!
