Toyota sold the XD tho to fill the same roll of the original XB and they even had the smaller XA if you wanted a tiny car. The original footprint xb existed it was just called something different.
I think when honda started development on the nsx it would have absolutely dominated everything. But the car got stuck too long in development hell by the time it was released it wasn’t really relevant anymore.
technology wise it was great. execution ... eh... The bushings were so soft and the car was so damped it was over emphasized the luxury. Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder and obviously some people liked them or they would have never sold any of them.
