if you invested this money in 2008 you would be substantially better off than double your money.  I’m sure SOME sucker will pay 80k for this but i don’t see it’s value increasing much unless you wait 20 years to sell it.

this is america

if you have to use the accelerator to avoid a collision you are in such a small statistic of scenarios it would be impossible to prove “but if my car was faster this would have been avoided!” It would not be Kia’s fault it would be whoever T boned you. Or you pulled out in traffic without looking, or you made a

Had a coworker that would drive 60+ miles to work one way in one every day mostly interstate. It was a manual, not sure if i’m more impressed with the car or that guy’s tenacity.

this is super rad!

That was an interesting insight to the “behind the scenes.” I guess it just reminds me that everyone driving an EV right now are really just beta testers to a new technology in cars.  I am very jaded highly doubt ford spent that much time/effort into the development of the “more power” update.  But i will concede that

I hate the comparison of comparing getting the full power out of your EV to getting a “tune” on your gas car. For an ICE engine engineering has to balence multiple aspects of an engine, economy, NVH, driveability, reliability, and power. It’s a balancing act.

you want the car to be stiff not the coil springs!

16 miles per hour! The athleticism

I understand “it let you camp in car” but why would you even want to do that?? If you are  going to go camping go camping and get a real tent.  Also the logistics of sleeping in the back ... massively sucks versus an air mattress or cot on the ground.

sport chrono package and M driver performance package are rip offs also!

What it cost ford is irrelevant to me the consumer. With a gas engine i can theoretically understand that “MAX POWER” tune is off the table from the factory because efficiency, nvh, driveability ect. You can have the aftermarket retune your car and give up your warranty. or you can let ford do it for you and keep your

7k towing is just right for a midsize imo. I know the ranger can do 8 but my work truck was a v6 f150 and i’m not sure how “driveable” it would feel towing more than 6k anyway.

the long bed being available across the lineup is AWESOME! it was previously only available in SV trim.  it looks rad in the orange paint!  Although the fuel economy is gross the frontier is probably the truck i would buy due to the reasonable price, decent equipment and the long bed. I just could not imagine having a

I never understood the appeal of this style “tent”

that is only 425 dollars and it includes an intake and spark plugs so at approximately $200 in parts and usb to obd cable (60 for spark plugs, 140 for the intake) The fee is significantly lower here for and even more incremental increase in performance. While i’m still not 100 percent supportive of  a fee in general

i think that’s a special case. i know BMW and Porsche does this so long that people basically expect it now. If they ever stopped there would be OUTRAGE. How DARE porsche advertise non sandbagged performance figures!

which is silly because the american automakers only want to sell you luxury vehicles now. GM, Ford has given up on selling the common man a new car. the only affordable offerings seem to be coming from overseas right now!

You sort-of have a point that engineering has to balance a tune for efficiency, performance, confort, driveability. Providing “max power” would be detriment to some of those other aspects of a drivetrain.

the manufacturer is going to advertise the ‘best case scenario” real world is always a bit slower.
