I like the Maverick a lot but I think people overestimate it’s capabilities. The payload and towing is really low. 4,000lb towing capacity is only on certain trim levels and configurations otherwise all of the trucks get 2,000 lb towing. Also you can get the FX4 trim with max tow package but not the tremor off road

Also with EVs the acceleration really drops off at higher speeds due to the single speed transmission.

I wonder how much energy/ miles on the tesla is burnt running the climate control I know that in extreme cold your miles is about half if you are running the heat and that’s while moving.

i don’t really live in a “city”. My town is more like oversized suburbia.

I would pick the full size if the price was close enough but if the midsize was decently less price and got better fuel economy that would be my preference. there has been some wild rumors from toyota about the next gen tacoma a manual option and a hybrid option and even a rumor of a hybrid manual. If i could

yeah the fuel economy ive seen on the latest gen GM midsize is disgusting. But most people are optioning “bro truck” spec at4x , Zr2 ect. I havnt seen many reporting being done on the more highway trims.

the 2.7 engine has been working out fine in the silverado.

Fiat 500 ev!

made a comment to say exactly this. Plus the carpeted bed was a bit over the top. Sure a lot of people who put bed caps on their trucks install carpet but the truck being a lincoln brand made it look too “fancy.”

I was saying the low end cars were too expensive.  The mirage was mitsubishi’s best selling car for a few years and suprised mitsubishi with it’s success.

having a new car did not used to be exclusive to the upper class. People’s rent is going up. cars are getting more and more expensive every year and paychecks are staying flat. I’m not a poor person, I have a really nice job  and even I can’t afford a new car

it’s not that “nobody wants inexpensive new cars” the people that want them can’t afford them.

I understand the legal reason why but seriously why does our capital have to have garbage heap for infrastucture.

also if you want the “base” german car you have to special order it and it will take six to nine months for it to be made and then you have to wait for the boat to deliver it.  Nothing wrong with that but the “starting at” cars do not exist on dealership lots.

Honda can not make enough civic type Rs and if people are willing to pay grifter dealers 60k for a civic type r they are likely willing the pay 53k (or more) for an integra type S. The Integra is not really a great value but the people buying them are not cross shopping anything else. And that’s probably okay, if

it’s a honda and not a volkswagen for one..

Nissan sells the micra in Australia with a base price of 13,490 Australian which is just over 9,000 USD.   It’s not like affordable new cars don’t exist they just are not available in the US.

oh yeah the poor people can finally afford a tesla 10 years later after the battery is used up and can spend $20,000 replacing the battery. Yes that is how much a new tesla battery costs. Used EVs are just E waste.

a lot of these wealthy people would still buy the EVs even without the incentives.  Also poor people if they could afford a car have to pay higher interest rates.  It’s expensive being poor.

This is just trickle down economics. Give wealthy people a break so that the poor people can do better. Fuck all of that.
