The saab example is a decent example but the more powerful engines had a lot more upgrades to justify the price difference. Assuming the car makes the power advertised is not even an assumption. Very few automakers under report power numbers and if they do it is on an exotic / luxury car not a regular family car. interior looks great. the exterior is not bad. the $30,000 price makes me throw up in my mouth. the prices of everything is outpacing wage growth so fast! me and my wife both recently got promotions and it feels like instead of having “extra” money we are just keeping up with everything else getting more expensive.

interesting concept to discuss. But this is so far into futurism that what’s the point. First we need to get to a point where autonomous vehicles are the majority of cars on the road before we discuss things like this.

Cadillac escalade. Even with the /V engine the power is not really that impressive anymore compared to the modern eclectic powertrains. Also it would help cadillac’s image if it’s most famous modern vehicle wasn’t such a gas guzzler.  Not really saying the current version is any bad but it would be better as an EV. 

I think the issue would be how do you make an EV transition on a classic car safe in a crash.
