I still haven't had Schlafly's Chocolate Ale. I just had the coffee stout for lunch (I promise I am not an alcholic) I will have to try Schlafly's soon. I agree with the poster below... I think the hunt for the beer just makes it that much better!

Three hours! Holy goodness. I am glad there is only a smallish following here because we usually have a few weeks to finish it and I can only have a glass or two at a time or I am done.
Mid Missourian... And we just got it in town. Only two pubs and one liquor store get it in town. And it took FOREVER because of this stupid storm! You can only buy one bottle per person and the kegs won't get tapped until this weekend. But isn't it the BEST thing EVER. Is everyone sold out there?
We finally have a night without the little man and what do we have plan? Staying in with pizza, Boulevard Chocolate Ale, and House of Cards. Now just praying I don't fall asleep from pure exhaustion.
Don't worry, there was a good amount of crazies there that held massive prayer sessions to try and block such a horrible law. As someone who lost housing due to ignorance, it is a much needed ordinance everywhere, especially in a college town.
I wonder if anyone has actually compared the quality of jobs lost once a Walmart moves in to the jobs it creates. I am sure Walmart creates more jobs, but I cannot believe the jobs they create put more money in the local economy than the jobs kill.
It is amazing how many people don't understand this. We are getting a Sam's Club soon, and everyone is going on and on about all the new jobs they will bring. I just can't believe they don't understand those new jobs come at the cost of local businesses and will mostly be minimum wage, part-time jobs. Yeah, that is…
Awe, my first condolence gif! I feel so loved.
I wasn't aware. I left Kansas a few years ago and there were ordinances in Manhattan (which no way would I consider that town liberal) and I thought some different ones were about to pass in Wichita. It is a shame they have been repealed. But you are totally right, Lawrence and Topeka are really the only liberal…
YES! Mrbassoon played college football so I am always asking him stratagy questions. So of course that means throughout the game some other patron will start explaining what is going on if I don't look excited enough. I have been watching Big 12 football since I could walk, I know what is going on.
Most of the "liberal" cities in Kansas have some degree of city ordinances ranging from housing protection to job discrimination. This new law would supersede all of those city ordinances and allow those big city bigots to discriminate as their heart desires.
As a bi woman who went school in Kansas, this does not surprise me at all. My junior year there was a prayer session held in our state school student union over a city ordinance that would prevent housing units from being able to discriminate based on sexual orientation. My ex and I couldn't sign a new lease when our…
My aunt and uncle adopted my cousin from Russia back in 2002 when he was almost 11. They told my aunt that if he was not adopted by 13 he would be kicked out of the orphanage. The horror stories my cousin used to tell about the orphanage would break anyone's heart. Most the kids there, including my cousin, had…
Not going to lie, Billie Ray Cyrus was my first crush. 6 year-old me thought he was the coolest thing since that MASH game. I still get all excited when I hear "Achy Breaky Heart" or "Should've Been Me" on the radio, but after that... nope. NOPE NOPE NOPE.
Thank you! It seems like most people are acting like religions are harmless groups that deserve nothing but respect. Bull. While many religious groups do many wonderful things, there are just as many that push hateful/ignorant agendas that hurt so many people.
I know, right? I cannot think of something that would make me more happy than a heated towel after a bath or shower. Oh, I guess if there was a wine and chocolate dispenser built in to the heated towel rack... Yup, that would make me the happiest!
We keep talking about our dream house once we have money and that is my second requirement. First is heated towel rack for the bathroom, obvs.
We have an extra bed in my son's room we use just for that. Sad thing is, even with both doors closed, I still need ear plugs and a white noise machine.
Mine never hears me when I yell. Probably because I cannot scream any louder than he snores. When it gets really bad I just go to the bathroom and accidentally leave the door open so the light shines right in his face. A little passive aggressive, but it works.
When his bust was put in the Missouri capitol, they added a guard just for the area for almost a month... So job creation?
