I’ve worked in a library, and sometimes all it takes is one person to challenge a book. Most, if not all librarians would fight tooth and nail to NOT ban any book no matter what the content. But in reality it is usually up to the boards, who are not generally open to freedom of information.

You are not wrong. Unless this book gets “challenged” (which it will, because ANY book even hinting at gay stuff gets challenged at any library by helicopter parents who don’t monitor what book or DVD their kids check out), it will likely end up in the “parent’s shelf” section in the children’s area. It won’t end up

You’re not wrong about recipes. A few years ago this woman signed out just about every recipe book in our library over a period of a few months. Then about a year later she published her very own “family recipe” book, and other than adding a few different spices, or slight differences in preparation, they were pretty

I reread the book last summer, and I still liked it. Even though there were some WTF moments, there are other King books that had worse WTF going on. About the “aliens”, despite us reading about the bodies found in the spaceship, I always got the impression that the townspeople were the aliens. By that I mean that

Well it’s not as if he is in a debate about how hard it is to get into University or how expensive it is. He is in a debate about gun control because he survived a massacre and people like Laura had him on her show to ask questions about how he feels. So it was kind of a low blow of her to bring up his not getting

Yeah I caught that later after the edit deadline of course. :)

A few years ago when I worked in a library, there was no one in the building except staff, so we left at 8:58 (closing was at 9). The next day someone complained to the manager because they were in the parking lot and saw us leave a few minutes early. They admitted they had no intention of even coming in (not that we

When I used my mum’s computer, for some reason she keeps getting ads for gay cruises. The only thing I can think of is that she might have searched for info on that movie Moonlight (Oscar winner and all that), but it really was a weird connection seeing two guys holding hands on a beach wearing speedos.

That’s the thing I have never figured out either. He obviously can get attractive women to sleep with him, so why not just stick with serial dating and not have to worry about nagging wives and prenups? I know he has said that Marla got pregnant when dating him and he didn’t want his kid to be illegitemite. But as far

I guess it would depend on your tolerance for grossness. There is alot of blood and body parts in it, but to me they look fake. So they aren’t going for realism here.

I have to agree with you here. I love reading the reviews, and commenting and reading other peoples opinion. But what with Easter coming up among other things, I am not likely to be able to even get to this show until later, and by then these recaps will be buried under 100's of other articles so I am not likely to

I’ve watched that bit again and again in the film, and on youtube clips. At first I thought it was a trick of the camera, but wasn’t sure. But over many viewings I was sure that was a real damn bird, so kudos to Michelle for going for it. But I still think the bit where she spits the bird out and it flies away

I don’t think they did, but I am guessing the director wanted to make it look like they were about to during that Bacon shower scene. They really should have though.

I so agree. I worked on a couple of movies, and yes, they were stressful for all involved. So many people and elements involved to get that one shot right, and well, it doesn’t always go right for various reasons, and tempers do flair because money and time is involved. If Fred yelled at this woman because a costume

I noticed in the statement they said the NDA’s only applied to people coming foreward about Harvey specifically. But what about anyone else who decided to follow Harvey’s MO? Surely he wasn’t the only one.

I don’t know for sure, but my take is that the American version just didn’t make as much money as the studios hoped it would. They thought it would exceed the success of the Swedish trilogy, and when it didn’t they just washed their hands of it and probably made another super hero movie instead.

The only thing I can think of is that Charles is salty because after Will and Kate got married, he feels he should have been invited to Canada before them? And I think Canada was their first Royal tour after their wedding, and of course Canada still had royal wedding fever, so he got jealous. He also got jealous of

Wishful Drinking is a great book. And if you get the chance, you should see the stand-up show Carrie does for it you should because it is hilarious! It’s on youtube somewhere.

Maybe the character just cared about the tax cuts? But I see your point. Karens got a gay best friend whom she even asked to marry Rosario so she wouldn’t be deported. Yeah she is selfish at times, but it’s weird to think of her supporting a guy who is willing to do awful things to people she supposedly cares about.
