“Brian May, what do you think of superhero movies?”

but May made sure to dig his hole a bit further

At least it’s not a “bait a director into criticizing Marvel movies” day.

Today on “Bait an old person into saying old person things”...

That JO motion needs to be a bit bigger to match Scott’s commentary.

Scott was just on Maron crying about how The Last Duel bombed because millennials can’t get off their phones

Or maybe, The Last Duel bombed because it was terribly marketed and had a very small audience that would of seen it to begin with

There’s a layer which I call the great unwashed, which is my favorite expression. It’s very rude and it’s fucking meant to be, because I don’t make movies for that lot.

he was saying no matter how many “first Asian” prizes Simu wins, Bowen will always be able to better him by being “first gay Asian” to do the exact same thing, which in this comedic game of one-upsmanship is just one notch more unique that therefore takes precedence (as represented by the final heightening of the

Not as pedantic as me telling you it’s “pedantic” and not “pendatic.”

being explicit just isn’t her persona on or off stage’

I haven’t really seen anyone upset about that. I thought it needed to commit to either being a modern Amblin kids movie or a nostalgia-fest for old dudes because as it was it didn’t really completely satisfy in either direction.

Wait, are we back to pretending we think this was truly a “wardrobe malfunction”/accident?  I thought it was pretty much understood both JT and JJ were in on it, then quickly disavowed it after the blow up.

Most of the time I don’t think it’s nostalgia as much as these companies looking at what properties they already own.

I mean Picard at least wouldn’t start being all laughy and flopsweaty about it.  He’d just say “Queen is another simile or metaphor” then list two humans and an alien that are famous for that.  “In the vein of Oscar Wilde, Mae West, and Glintharp of Daisemia!”

Let’s go method, Jonah! Cut off you fingers!

Weaver in Alien isn’t a super hero. She is a final girl. She does great in the role and it’s a great movie. Aliens is when she becomes a super hero and Ridley didn’t make that one.

If the pilot was so amazing, why did they crash? Huh? HUH?
