“Nobody knew that healthcare could be so complicated....I have to tell you, it’s an unbelievably complex subject.”
This is very sad. If there was just some way that he could have discovered that Trump was actively peddling a racist and xenophobic agenda before the November election.
I mean, I wouldn’t want my mom to lose her coverage or anything, BUT HER EMAILS!!
“My mom’s a breast cancer survivor who has health insurance thanks to the exchange. So I don’t want to see her lose her coverage.”
People can “threaten to sue” all they fucking want. If I was a McDonald’s employee making shit McDonald’s employee money, you bet your ass I’d hoard some 20-cent sauce to make what would probably be the equivalent of multiple weeks’ paychecks on ebay.
If I worked at McDonalds and knew some idiot would pay more money than I make in a month for a some crappy sauce and a poster I’d hoard it too.
As pathetic as it is, they could probably make serious bank selling them on eBay.
Every last thing about this entire Szechuan Sauce thing has been unfathomably stupid from start to eventual finish.
Yeeees, give the fools their tar-tar sauce.
On one hand, it’s possible that you’re right, McDonald’s drastically underestimated the number of sauce packets that they would need to fulfill the wants of their customers.
This is the new AV Club now, baby!
I support the kneelers, I oppose Trump’s efforts to chill free speech with government resouces, and the following is not an endorsement of ESPN’s actions.
She really crossed the line there politicizing something like Football. Unconscionable. It’s a game, there’s no place there for politics whatsoever. It’s the move of a true coward. Only a truly ineffectual and weak person would do something so petty, someone who has no actual power. Like the Vice President.
Yeah, she came off as more of a Bond henchman than anything else, to me.
“ devoid of the noir claustrophobia and nervous energy and tension of the original.”
South Park is itself symptomatic. It’s so busy as a show smugly looking down on everything that it doesn’t take a stand on anything. It’s easier to sit on a fence and make fun of everyone than to have principles.
If you think about it, it’s quite telling that the moment Neo finally becomes The One is when he directly rejects Agent Smith referring to him as “Mr. Anderson” (i.e. Neo’s Dead Name) and declares that he is Neo.
I only found out recently that the character Switch was supposed to be played by a male actor in the real world, and a female actor in the Matrix, which would have been a really interesting extension of the ‘residual self-image’ idea. It’s a shame it was never explored more.
Yeah, when it comes to philosophy I’m not even a filthy casual myself. I was really thinking of pretentious poseurs who want credit for having read Nietzsche, even though they don’t understand him and think he’s some kind of Social Darwinist or “do what thou will” Anton La Vey type. Think of Otto from A Fish Called…
Do you realize how many idiots watch Breaking Bad and hate “All the Skylar stuff. She’s slowing down all the fun. Why can’t it just be about the drug game?” Because that’s not what the show is, you morons. I expect these people to come out of a screening of The Wrestler and complain “Not enough wrestling.”
