Yeah, the only thing you can take away from Durant’s trampling of Lebron is that James is having exponentially more asked of him from his team. Only Love and Kyrie have shown up so far, so James has to carry the rest of the team once again, while Durant can fuck around flipping in shots knowing there’s a whole crew

You should just post this on every deadspin story.

I have been saying Cavs will be swept, but I still think the rest of the Cavs outside their big three, who have been an almost complete no show in games 1 & 2, will play better at home.

One the one hand, judging the Spurs by approx half of one game is silly, but on the other, they managed 20+ point leads in every game against the Warriors this year before Kawhi got hurt, so that’s something.

A full tilt San Antonio / Golden State throw down is what fans deserve and by next spring it will have been

how could i have missed that. i’ve seen so many weird chappelle interviews about this topic, esp on youtube.

I agree that this is a black mark on Paul’s career, but I’m not ready to say it’s just because he has some innate inability to win or lack of quality at the sport of basketball. He is clearly better than the Spurs’ other options at point guard.

cavs ain’t gettin to 1 this time.

Interesting...yeah there was clearly a miscommunication or one of those three players would’ve at least gotten a swipe at Durant. I think your summary is apt.

And they about to go 16-0! :)

So yeah, Green, Thompson, and Thompson, to answer your question. lol

I think that line was an error, but the idea that they have plenty of scorers left after Curry and Durant take up the Cavs’ best defenders, still stands. Green, Thompson, Iguodala, McGee, West, Livingston, Clarke, McCaw, all plenty capable, especially

Cleveland needs the games to be as much like Game 7 last year as possible.

Lebron is a bitch. Gaming Draymond into that ‘handbags at twelve paces’ last year and then whining to the league to get him suspended showed he didn’t think they could win with Green in the game.

Play the team in front of you, don’t sit there trying to suspend somebody.

Plus everybody keeps saying ‘well if he wins

I think Mark Jackson is a stooge, but I think he genuinely respects Steve Kerr and is always very positive in his comments about him. I think he gets his own limitations as a coach, which is why he is back to broadcasting. I only wish he would see his limitations as a broadcaster and go back to something else.

Yeah but there is zero fatigue for the Ws this year, unlike last year. Wishing for a history repeat is a pretty sad strategy.

Outside of Durant, Dubs shooting was not nearly its best.

Kind like Cleveland got the last two finals...good to see it evening out.

Lebron went to the line on a few very weak foul calls in the first quarter. Ws barely visited line at all in first half. I will say after the first quarter, the refs seemed to be letting just about everything go without a whistle, which was surprising.

The year prior the Ws had the best regular season record and never trailed 3-1, and they won the deciding game going away. Cavs were good, but injuries or not, they never did anything that gave the appearance of being the better team.

They DID step it up! That (and the Ws missing wide open shots) was the reason they kept game 1 within 40.

It won’t be the first sweep in the Finals and hopefully it won’t be the last.
