I would agree that a clean font probably isn’t going to sway anyone to hire you, but using a shitty hideous font is very likely going to negatively affect your chances. Even someone who isn’t super aware of fonts probably isn’t going to hire an idiot using Papyrus or Apple Chancery.

I think the takeaway from this article is if you are lazy about the visual aesthetic of your resume, Helvetica, which is both a common and somewhat respected font, is a good option to appear less lazy than using Times New Roman, which can often be the default font in applications like Mircosoft Word.
