I’m 6'1, 180 and a 3 years ago my indoor soccer league had a team with a 2nd or 3rd-string CFL running back. He wasn’t tall or terribly imposing, but I bumped into him a few times on the field and it was like a brick wall had been suddenly placed on the field.

I’m with Manny.

Due to the precedent set last Thursday when the helmet-to-facemask hit on defenseless Jordan Reed wasn’t flagged, this is solid, consistent officiating.

Ever stay at a hotel with a “modern” shower with 3 solid walls (one usually glass) and a fixed shower head at the opposite end? On day one you have no idea how hot or cold the water is going to be and it forces you to fully commit to certain doom. I now take a sacrificial towel in to channel the water down until

It definitely is a shit story, but the reader submitted before it the shitting part.

Nailed it.

Played in a school district growing up where the system once you reached extra time was golden goal with the number of players reduced by 2 every 10 minutes. It started with 10 mins 9v9, then 10 mins 7v7, etc. We only had 2 games go to extra time, but it neither reached 5v5, and usually some quality chances during the

Will never happen because it will seem to be reducing safety at first, but removing helmets and going with rugby scrum hats would prevent “headhunting”. The original reason American football put a plastic cover on the leather caps of old was because rain washed the logos off.

As GBS pointed out - Drew assumed nobody would hold it “parallel”, and discussed the swipe, not the orientation. Looks like there’s actually four ways to do this:

Báez may have hesitated? He did a lightning-fast stutter-step about 15' from third at just the point Stewart looked up. It was so brief it’s tough to tell if it was genuine hesitation or if he meant it to dupe Stewart. It may make the play even more amazing either way - if it was intentional the speed he did it was

If someone did break the majors record, but only in one major (a stunning test of longevity in itself), I’d agree it’s legit but if done at the Masters it comes with a footnote because it’s always held on the same course. The other majors have at least a rotation of courses. Old Jim Nance could wax on all he wanted

Couldn’t agree more with one rule: Ban the menus on flatscreens that occasionally change to a promo that makes the menu disappear every minute or so. If I walk into a place I don’t frequent for my late lunch and immediately get to the counter, sometimes there’s no damn menu to order from.
