I know the reviews for the Godzilla vs King Kong movie have been largely positive, but this is what I think of every time I hear about how “straightforward” it is:

That’s not the direction I was expecting for the sequel to Eat, Pray, Love, but I’m willing to give it a watch.

I just looked up the last two Rifftrax Kickstarters. They raised $560,000 in 2020 and $460,000 in 2019. The first MST3K Kickstarter raised $5.7 million, so roughly 10 times those amounts. Riffrax is also very up front that this money is used to pay their writing team, maintain their digital platforms, and get rights…

I’m about as a diehard of an MST3K fan as they come (look at my username!), but Joel squandered a lot of my goodwill and interest in his “pure” version of the show.
