The Lamb is still my favorite prog album of all time. Take your star, from a fellow nerd.

I’m the same, and I’ve come to conclude E’s just basically given all he has to give. The new stuff is fine, it’s just variations on a theme. I didn’t realize Cautionary Tales was a thing up until a few weeks ago.
I’m a big fan of Hombre Lobo and Wonderful Glorious/Tomorrow Morning are both pretty good. End Times and The Cautionary Tales were both way too one-paced for me though.
I remember the evolution from Beautiful Freak to Electro-Shock Blues to Daisies of the Galaxy to Souljacker, just constant growth. Then Shootenanny!, and it was like, okay, back to basics. Then Blinking Lights, which was a very long summation of his career. Felt like the end of the first chapter, really. And then...…
This show has everything: Chadwick Boseman, John Mulaney, disappointment thrones.
The Eurythmics need way more love than they get. The wierd creative tension between their electro art-pop sensibility Annie Lennox’s soul diva inclinations and made for something incredibly interesting.
How the hell does Pollard remember any of his own songs? Let alone try to play them or get a band to learn them after they’re recorded?
Squint was one of the defining moments in my life. Listening to “Jesus is for Losers” or “The Finish Line” challenged my faith like nothing that came before it.
Steve Taylor only just recently returned to music, after a couple of decade focusing on film work. Before putting down the guitar he released Squint (1994), which for me was his most powerful record ever (so of course it was almost entirely ignored in Christian circles).
Love I Predict 1990! Squint is even better imho.
Praise Him!
My wife and I both gave up three episodes in on this season. Just didn’t care anymore. It felt like they were going in circles, and it smacked of tragedy porn. The non-stop gunplay was ridiculous too. It’s funny, because I actually enjoyed Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan.
Yes, thanks for the reminder that the first track was actually the first single(at least where I lived...OH). All of my friends loved them.
Makes sense as the 90s didn’t really become “the 90s” until Clinton was in office.
I lived in Charlotte for a heartbeat and it always amazed me to read/hear the local/state news and all I could do was shake my head.
I can play the riff from Refrigerator Car if requested. Thats never happened, but even so....
When do we get this level of analysis for TMBG’s “Flood,” which was the most impactful album of my youth and therefore should be of interest to everyone?
Maybe the only hip hop record where I didn’t skip the skits in between songs.
Where is Clit Eastwood? Can anyone even find him?
I was just going to post that exact comment. Space Age Love Song is so much better than I Ran.
