VOTE: Transmission

I'm pretty sure you can do that in uTorrent. IIRC when you add a torrent it asks which files you want to download.

You can pay for DropDAV like Rosemary Jayne suggested, but you can also set up Send to Dropbox ([sendtodropbox.com] which is free.

I had to use that iWork trick because I was trying to open a Pages document in Pages and it was spitting an error at me. It worked, but it was frustrating.

1) Rhythmbox has always worked for me. What you might want to do is go into the Software Center and install the package "Ubuntu restricted extras." This will install things like MP3 codecs, Java, Flash, etc. Very helpful.

@Al Iguana: It only selects photos that have that person tagged, so your theory doesn't work....

I guess I'll just freeze during the harsh Maine winters...

That's shitty programming.

Google Maps Buddy isn't available for download from the dev's site. So you have to use Download.com: [download.cnet.com]

Except wow - Gawker only encrypts and stores the first 8 characters of a password. So I set a 9 character password using LastPass per LH's recommendation (of LastPass), then I only need the first 8 characters to log in.

I remember Leo Laporte mentioning this software a while back. Basically, it records sounds and while you write down notes, it will synchronize the audio and your notes so if you go down to your notes for "Battle of Bull Run", then in the audio you can skip down to your teacher lecturing about Bull Run.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

@Goof_Troop: The Hangover's streaming on Netflix?

Bambi's on instant watch? Hell yeah!

This changes everything. Again.

@csmcanarney: Dropbox won't accept my australia.edu address. Dammit.

@Gotlactose: The free Find My iPhone is definitely a good incentive to upgrade to 4.2. I'm sure they'll be an untethered jailbreak soon - I believe there's already a tethered one.

@John: I'd get the Kindle because it has a wider selection of books. The Nook 2 has an LCD screen IIRC. I'm not sure how comfortable that would be compared to the Kindle's e-ink screen. And the Kindle's web browser is quite good for the little Facebook updates you might want to make.

@SpriteMV: I'm trying to activate free Find My iPhone on a iPhone 2G my little sister uses (and constantly loses) and it's not working. Dammit.
