This is excellent EXCEPT the equation in the heading... in copy/paste you lost the subscripts so it doesn’t make sense. At first I thought torch just mashed a bunch of letters and numbers together and was highly offended.

Some people just want to see the world literally burn.

3rd gear - As they venture into the automotive world Samsung should partner with Ferrari to strengthen their brand identity.

Counterpoint - Lyft definitely is the better boyfriend.

HamNo, you aren’t wrong in principle: organized labor and combined bargaining ARE effective means of maintaining a higher status quo for workers. But this only works if an “essential” work force exists which, in Amazons case, it does not. Labor unions - particularly skilled labor unions - are effective because there

In reality, I don’t think writers in the 70s were necessarily considering the consequences of digital infrastructure aiding an AI takeover and the requirement for an air gap but maybe I’m not giving them enough credit.

This is a really good thought; all those physical controls as a check on some sort of droid rebellion! Very good thinking.

For the record, I don’t think the theory posited in my post above is intentional nor am I confident it would hold up under further scrutiny of the film. It is the definition of a half-cocked, speculative, unresearched theory.

Im sure they will. It’s cost reduction, not cost elimination. Just like every automated assembly line has a human staff as well.

You’re confusing capital expense and operating expense. Sure Uber will have to pay for cars and the investment in technology, but they don’t have to pay drivers whose payment - as the article notes - is a majority of Uber’s expense.

“Right but is the photo NEWSWORTHY?!?!”

But what if the photo is newsworthy?

Right but is the photo NEWSWORTHY?!?!

They should build urinals into the seats.

Well, sounds like a four game suspension for Big Ben, and Steelers lose a first and a fourth round pick. Sorry Steelers fans. Also I am looking forward to reporters asking Ben what he would say to children who look up to him.

Not when 1 cm, 10 cm, 100cm or1m of snow falls. Nor 5 ft, I presume. Still not following you. People in snowy places do not need chains. This is not a hot take, just a fact.

Okay but Ontarians don’t use tire chains! Except truckers, perhaps. I don’t even think they’re legal! They’re not allowed in N.S., N.B. Or Quebec.

yeah those banks don’t care about your mortgage lol
