Im glad we have someone to explain how racism works. Otherwise I might just wear a Hitler moustache everywhere ago. Thank you for helping me avoid such an embarrassing bounder.

Hoooooly shit we got an idiot over here. Re-evaluate your fucking life choices if you’re just assuming that millions of people are just “pretending” to like something. Fuuuck yooooou and your iamverysmart bullshit. I’ll bet YOU like something that someone else thinks is dumb and I’ll bet they aren’t an ASSHOLE about

Can’t take honest criticism I see. I think it’s pretty clear where you and Kotaku stand.

Shouldn’t a journalist have good reason before making truth claims to their readers about extremely important and controversial issues?

What constitutes conclusive evidence? The evidence isn’t conclusive either way so why announce one as the truth and ignore the other?

We actually agree about a lot, but you still seem to be misunderstanding me. I am saying that it was irresponsible for the writer of the article to discount these possible reasons out of hand by the “all of them bad” statement. I also never said that women were inferior in esports. I said that there are other possible

I guess I don’t understand how this is a question of how progressive you are. I’m pretty damn progressive I think, but this just seems like sticking your head in the sand and ignoring the truth. I’m pretty sure Kotaku wants to create this argument for clicks and ad revenue and I think that’s irresponsible.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I did say borderline, and that is my opinion. I think that if the author was willfully lying to create controversy and garner clicks then it is evil, but I can’t know that for certain, just feel it in my bones.

Esports and business are a false equivalence in this context. There is plenty of research on the difference in specific cognitive abilities and biases between men and women. I linked you to some of it about. My argument is not even necessarily that these are a large factor in the low representation of women in

Here is a nice article about one factor. I’ve written a bit more about it in other comments.

I never said that biological differences were the reason, or implied that they were the only reason. I said that to discount them entirely was dishonest, or a lie of omission, which I consider to be evil when coming from a journalist. A journalist lying to his readers is evil, in my opinion.

I never said that women are inferior. Everyone is an individual and no one is inherently better than anyone else. I am surprised I have to say this, frankly. Some people have predispositions that point them toward a particular vocation or something similar. I have poor eyesight, for instance, so I’ll never be a

Some people are! I genuinely just want to have a conversation. Thanks.

They did right away which I was both surprised and relieved by.

I appreciate what you are saying, but I don’t believe it was an oversight.

There are already women’s tournaments in several esports and they are great!

I wrote about it lower, here:

Thanks. I’m really just tired of articles with this kind of weird, mixed up sub-text to them on Kotaku. Everything seems to have an agenda now, and I’m pretty sure that the agenda is to make money through controversy at the expense of ethics. I would just like to have an honest conversation about it.

In what way is it trans-phobic? I don’t have any problem with trans people. I have a problem with inaccurate and irresponsible reporting, which I think this is. If anything I’d rather Kotaku just leave her gender out of it.

How am I denying her experience? She won. I literally don’t understand. She had the experience whether she’s a man or woman or anything in between, right?
