I thought that prior publication of an invention puts that invention in the public domain and prevents anyone from patenting it. Not a patent attorney, so could be wrong.

I have streaming but don't use it. So by dropping from Streaming + 1 DVD to 1 DVD only, my monthly cost decreases from $9.99 to $7.99/month. Sometimes I go to 2 DVDs which will be $11.99, less than what I paid previously. Maybe I'm in the minority for whom the new pricing works.
