Yeah it’d be awesome to see the “Chewie script” that includes what he’s supposed to be saying. Most is pretty easy to guess from Han’s reactions, but I’m sure there’s some that are pretty good. I sure wouldn’t have guessed “Where the hell have you been?” for that one up top.

I’d be surprised if they gave either part to an American actor. I think if Depp is confirmed to be in this, he’ll play some smarmy American Dark wizard.

I had a Political Science professor in college who was a Mexican immigrant. He would use (sparingly!) the words “wetback” “spic” and a bunch of others, jokingly in the context of talking about racism, immigration, and other relevant topics.

Eh....I think this is only an issue because oversensitive liberal white folk who can’t use those words don’t understand using words like that to make jokes about yourself or just saying the words in general without censoring ourselves because we can. Remember all the clutched pearls over the president saying ‘nigger’?

The Prestige TV Show Hot Take Economy is extremely bad and dumb, but so is arguing that the way that we talk about and depict our world in fiction is irrelevant and not worth talking about in general. Granted that many people do it in a way that is stupid and wearying - that doesn’t invalidate the broader principle

Or perhaps she went to like a culinary arts magic school or something similar? I’m not sure on her qualifications but I could easily see there being Wizards who devote a lot of their time into just cooking with magic. Mrs. Weasley was just an average wizard using her magic to help her cook but there could be Wizards

Literally my thought. Like these characters should totally have looked like Deep Dream, with motion and everything. Would’ve been hard to look at, but that should have been the point, and it would’ve worked so much better with the aesthetic of, say, the entire ad campaign, opening credits, and character intros.

Only if you take “ directing” in the sole sense of “telling actors where to move” And even then, only in bad movies.

“Though Rivers will make his feature directorial debut, he’s no rookie”

I’m a little puzzled that this needed to be explained, too. Are there really people who watched the movie and came away with “Why are they making all those weird faces? Why didn’t the kid just kill him and get it over with?”

Like all other man-children who can’t control their emotions, Kylo is at all times trying to rationalize how what he feels is correct. So of course they find themselves committing to hideousness in order to validate the hideousness within themselves.

I got exactly the same thing. Ben was almost convinced, you could see that he started thinking about how he could walk away. And he almost does it, but when he hands over his lightsaber, it dawns on him that killing his father could be a “point of no return” moment. Then he decides to double down on his choice, and

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I thought the scene was pretty clear about Kylo’s conflict and why he killed Han. It seemed obvious that Kylo was convincing himself, and doubling down on his decision to stay on the dark side. I definitely think the scene was much more tragic for that, rather than if Kylo was just

My least favorite part of the Harry Potter movies was actually anything having to do with Harry Potter or the Hogwarts school.

“Not sure I can ever forgive them for this no-maj business.”

So is this like an alt-alt-universe then?

Yep. That’s the classic ‘getting ready to jump out and die’ pose.

Yep. Everything about that look says “last moment for this character”.

Agree - Bhodi is about to jump out from behind the boxes for a classic heroic last stand.

This shit right here, baby. If this doesn’t make you get hype, and want to run to see this, either you are dead inside or aren’t a star wars fan...
