Jedi Academy stuff is better suited to a TV show than a movie, I think. Like the Young Jedi Knights novels. Dawson's Creek with lightsabers. Buffy the Sith Slayer. I would watch the hell out of that.

I'm curious how you were led to the above post by the idea that a sunset is still beautiful even when you understand what causes it, but I'll respond to this:

I think it's important that people see that science isn't a cabal devoted to eliminating meaning and morality and disproving God. It's just a process by which we can know as much as possible.

Well watching the miniseries won't affect the original at all, so you might as well.

There are two things NDT is doing on this show that I absolutely love.

Love this. The best part is that all Campbell did was right down patterns he'd gleaned from reading a lot of stuff that Joseph Campbell didn't write. That's reductive, of course, but you see my point: Campbell became Campbell by reading a ton of other peoples' work.
