Actually, it sounds like she just got the wrong advice from her mom.

Without bookshelves, where will I keep all the crap in my apartment I don't have another place for?

My understanding is that it takes the story and expands on it in order to make a movie.

VISUAL PUNS.

Yeah - it's a swastika made out of an octopus.
The portrait is probably cribbed from a painting but I can't seem to find which one.
And who or what is AB?
And the text on his left shoulder? SWP? STUP? STVP?

Well if you're going to tell stories about them, then yes, you do need that stuff. The Mongols and Tartars had cultures. The Clone Wars ends with the pacifist Mandalorians getting crushed alongside the Death Watch - itself seemingly composed at least partially of warrior Mandalorians that just had nowhere else to go.

Yeah, I'd wondered if they made him broken because that was just a common thing that happened.

I'm unsure how they were made friendly. The peaceful Mandalorians in the Clone Wars cartoon were overthrown basically because they were useless, and we were shown Clonetroopers with personality, but they still ultimately slaughter children and turn on the Jedi. There's been a lot of development of the Mandalorians,

Yeah I am so, so, so impressed with them.

I assume her age and the state of the Mandalorians in this time period means she's not super connected to her culture.

Why not think of pimples as "face grapes" instead?

You know...I've lived in New York my whole life and this never occurred to me. Goddammit.

Why yes.

More simply, my question is: if the premise is that the origins of life as we currently understand them are unlikely, why is it somehow more likely that this occurred on Mars than on Earth?

That's what I'm asking - the question doesn't take into account that if life on Earth came from Mars, "puddles of chemicals" would have had to become life on Mars first.

But it's a show for kids.

Yes, the story would be drastically different if either of the main characters were female or not white, and it's not possible to say if it would be better or worse, but it is ridiculous to fault a work of fiction because the writer didn't go that direction

I guess when I said "give them more to do" I thought it was implicit from the position I'm taking that I meant "substantial things to do that would deepen their stories and characters."

Nothing much, really, just that when the police stopped by the Church the Church went into state-wide "cover your ass" mode.

Well my immediate impression was that someone knew the police would be stopping by.
