Checking my calendar to ensure the date is not April 1st......
Since at every possible moment we are reminded that Donald Trump is a terrible human being, couldn’t we also be reminded at every possible moment (such as when Mexico national team games are covered) that “puto” is a gay slur and should be stopped from being used?
You don’t need to warn us about this; we get hit over the head with such gems like “Spurs rise late to eclipse Suns,” “Bulls can’t handle the Heat,” and “Tigers roar into September” all the time. It seems like contrived sportswriting happens more often that not.

Starting with 2016 and working backwards to 1998, here is the rough percentage of non-white players in France tournament squads: 52, 43, 47, 60, 69, 69, 56, 43, 43, 39. Compared to the current ~15% non-white population in France, that’s pretty good minority representation.
