If I were The Machine AI Overlord(ie, that big squid-babyface god thing), I would probably just straight up delete kung fu from The Matrix altogether. I feel like that’s gotta be at least 65-70% of their problem right there.

Honestly, you need to make Control a priority. In terms of world-building, characters, and lore, it’s one of the best games I’ve played in ages. And that doesn’t discount any technical or gameplay elements; those are top-notch too. They took the ambition of AW and dialed it all the way up. Plus, I can’t spoil anything…
So the “motion tracker” didn’t always... track motion...
I know it’s only a trailer and it’s 2 and a half minutes long and they can’t reveal everything obviously but man does Malek’s villain seem utterly generic. (As does, to a less extent... most of the rest of it?)
Right?! We just did this! And it was boring and dumb!
I’m very discouraged by the fact that SPECTRE, one of the worst bond movies of all time, made the horrendous decision to try to “connect” all of Craig’s Bond movies into a single narrative and this looks like it’s doing at least a little bit of that, as well. UGH.
Yeah that’s exactly what bothered me, along with the whole “villain allows himself to be captured” trope that Dark Knight pulled too, and Avengers a few months earlier. They really wanted Bond to be Batman! Raoul’s plan was even more contrived than the Joker’s and there’s no way he could’ve timed some of that stuff.
“Take that absurd sequence of scenes where the female henchman explains her tragic backstory as a sex slave who was sent there on threat of death to seduce Bond (subverting the “Bond seduces female henchman” trope), then in the very next scene Bond seduces her - ie., very trope they just tried to subvert - in this…
My biggest issue with Skyfall is that it’s Craig’s third movie and they’re already playing up Bond as a decrepit dinosaur on the verge of retirement. I guess there’s some commentary there about how quickly spies burn out, but it’s jarring when Casino and Quantum are supposed to be like his first two missions ever.…
SigInt (which is what the Five Eyes alliance specialises in) is vastly different from billion-dollar spy missions involving cargo-drops, HALO jumps, and shooting up entire towns.
Skyfall *looks* amazing because of the Roger Deakins cinematography but it’s really not a great movie in any other respect. I’d go so far as to call it a total mess as the tone of that movie is all over the place because half the time it’s trying to subvert the classic Bond tropes while the other half it’s reveling in…
Yup. Skyfall is wildly overrated. Casino Royale is Craig’s only legitimately good entry.
It’s been so long it just seems like a given this film is going to flop. Reminds me of Dark Phoenix, everyone is just waiting for the new casting.
This really needs to be the end of the franchise, or at least this rendition of it. The original run made sense because Britain had an empire. The initial couple of films of this run made sense because they were extremely small scale.
This is feeling very Rise of Skywalker in its investment in a franchise-long “epic saga” for a franchise that really lives and dies by its moment-to-moment thrills.
Malek’s alright but he’s no Hank Scorpio.
I was here for this comment
ZZ isn’t.
