Well, unlike the painfully non-funny 2016 entry, Afterlife isn’t a comedy; it’s an 8-12-year-old’s adventure flick. (I’m not even sure what made it a PG-13 and not a PG.) And, the thing is, a kid’s adventure flick is pretty hard to not make a reasonably okay movie out of. So... for what it is, rather than what it…
Couldn’t even be bothered to spell Vigo’s name right.
Pretty much sums it up. I haven’t seen any Ghostbusters media except for the original film, precisely because it all looks to be coasting on the goodwill of that first movie, and the tone of this article struck me as ridiculously condescending and mean-spirited.
What is this article? “So, these - UGH - Losers who like a franchise are getting more products from that franchise - including things like movies and cartoons! UGHHHHHHH! Who even Wants those things?”
At the risk of setting things off for the 100th or more time, it is possible to have legitimate criticisms of The Last Jedi without being toxic. I thought it was extremely mediocre at best for a number of reasons and I am prepared to slowly amble up that hill.
The first movie wasn’t perfect but it was pretty damn good and, in my opinion, one of the best translations of a video game property into the movie medium (a premise which we all know doesn’t have a super great track record). This made it all the more disappointing when the second film wound up just being a…
The original film has its flaws (and I really dislike the ending), but it was an overall good film with some really excellent visual aesthetics work. What we saw on scream was genuinely creepy as hell, especially in the transition scenes. That gives me some hope for the new film.
Unless they are covering up the eventual twist where Black Adam turns heel and aims to become a tyrant, this looks generic and like total ass.
“Liberal” - people who want everyone to be healthy, happy, fed, employed (or supported if they cannot work), housed, and represented.
The problem with the argument is that, given a tyrannical government, the private citizens with guns will almost certainly provide overwhelming support for the tyrannical government. Fascists are all too happy to kill undesirables.
More than that, I bet all but the staunchest Second Amendment absolutists will agree that it’s OK for the government to regulate (read: ban) sales of machine guns or sales of guns to (at least some) convicted violent felons.
Seriously, what part of “well regulated militia” don’t you 2nd amendment proponents get.
“CELERBITIES NEED TO STAY OUT OF POLITICS!”
Why does noone ever ask why there are little to no black people at NRA conventions? or why you never see a black civilian carrying a firearm who isn’t a cop?
Having a wedge issue is more important to them than anything. Even dead kids. That's what happens when you don't really have anything to offer.
it’s always only a matter of time before they pivot to “it’s the families!” or “what about Chicago???” or other dog whistle deflections. Christ it’s infuriating to live in a country where the racist, batshit minority controls the chaos because the sane majority doesn’t have the balls to stand up to them.
“Unless it happens to one of their own, they’re not going to do anything,” another local explains.
You can tell he’s getting fed up with these people. He’s usually pretty good at letting people talk themselves into corners, but in this one his righteous fury bubbles under the surface with some of his questioning. He still holds it together, but man - that cut from the fashion show to the memorial is a gut-punch. We…
There is no such thing as too many Moebius-looking vidya games.
