So far, humans have proven themselves able to increase their use of hydrocarbons at an alarming rate no matter what.

No, the title should be “Man quits job on principle”.
I’m a captialist. But I’m a human being first.
Mehh, I don’t know. I’m with you at first, although the Raptor brake checking and aggressively blocking a clearly agitated driver is a terrible move, but then the move that puts the Raptor in the same category for me is the hard (audible) acceleration at the end when the Accord is now doing dangerous moves at…
> The Honda Lost.....THIS TIME
In jurisdictions with ‘passing lane’ laws, speed limit adherents should be expected to vacate the passing lane, unless they’re in the process of overtaking a driver travelling below the speed limit. This in no way injures speed limit adherents.
Under no circumstances is the Raptor driver deserving of defence here. He only looks good because the other guy was so much worse. They should both lose their license.
It’s not a question of speeders vs squatters, it’s a matter of state law requires one to keep right instead of passing.
Here in Indiana the state cops will absolutely nail your ass for left lane squatting. I have seen this with my own eyes; I cheered.
If he hadn’t of sped up when the Honda recklessly went on the shoulder to pass I would agree 100%.
Honda driver was a Dick, Raptor driver was a Dick.
Honda ended up losing
Don’t be a Dick
Brake checking is illegal. Raptor isn't highway patrol; not his job to police the left lane. He should be ticketed as well for unsafe driving
I think GreenN_Gold is saying the same thing as you; the Accord driver absolutely was driving like a maniac, but that’s the job of the police to reprimand, not the duty of the Raptor. You’re both saying the same thing here. The Accord was in the wrong, but the Raptor simply could have gotten out of his way and let the…
You absolutely will get ticketed to for impeding traffic if you sit on the left lane on an NJ highway. There’s a reason they post “Keep Righ Pass Left” signs every other mile on the roads here- they take that shit seriously. Jersey state police are pretty lenient about speeds- think left lane traffics flowing at 80-85…
In many states, including mine, the troopers will pull people over for sitting in the left lane even if they are doing the speed limit. The left lane is for passing. That’s the law. If you’re sitting in the left lane and there’s a long line of traffic behind it’s more of a safety concern than a bunch of drivers doing…
Oh man, I could not disagree with this more. If I were, hypothetically, a prosecutor charging these people with crimes for what they did here (the camera guy is awful but nothing he did was illegal) I’d go:
Accord driver: Reckless endangerment
Raptor driver: Intentional attempted murder
The Accord driver was acting…
If the Accord pulled his move in a vacuum, sure. But the Raptor saw the move, and decided to up the ante by trying to block him from getting back onto the road. That’s just as aggressive and stupid, and put the other bystanding driver in the right lane at even greater risk than the Accord alone. Screw Raptor…
I give it 60/40, maybe 70/30, to the Accord. It’d be interesting to see what the insurers would have done had the Accord taken out the Raptor too. Probably denied both claims under an “exhibition of speed” or similar exclusion.
What exactly did the truck guy have to “deal with?” He could have resolved this by switching into the right lane and going on about the rest of his day. It appears that he wanted this more so than he had to deal with it. If I participated in an incident like this and witnessed that crash in my rearview mirror, I would…
If the Raptor had driven normally and let the Accord driver pass, then none of this would have happened, would it? It takes two to tango, and the Raptor driver was being a dick in response to the Accord being a dick. The Accord took it up a level and the Raptor responded in kind. They’re both at fault.
