Against the shift in general I agree, but in this situation I think the relievers job is to not give up a dinger. Presumably the closer can handle the bottom third of the lineup and they just didn’t like the lefty-lefty matchup on a guy that hits for power or flyballs. Obviously the intentional walk would be more…
Those guys have even less to do if they’re not shifting; that’s why they shift.
Shifting is so impactful you have a whole fielder to spare.
To do this in concert with a shift strategy is just awesome. I really can’t believe the baseball fans who don’t like the innovation the game has undergone in the last decade or so.
Actually baseball references says that he should get both in their description of a hold, they specifically mention “the very exceptional situation where a pitcher moves to another position and later resumes pitching”
Because Boone had already used Hicks and the only remaining options were Drury (who’s hitting .179) and the 2nd catcher Romine.
Actually Romo can’t move again:
One of these days a position player will suck it up and just bunt
I saw this on her feed:
“That communist Eisenhower taught a generation of Americans that they DESERVE roads, paid for by the government.”
Until they need those services, the ones they take for granted. My BIL collected fraudelent unemployment for a year and has to pay back $14,000. He’s an ardent Trump supporter.
it’s the selfish dogwhistle. what she’s really saying is that she was horrified at that the thought some of her tax dollars might be spent on someone other than herself. like most ‘conservatives’ she preaches the lie that community is important that she cares about the country, when all she cares about is herself and…
Also, it would allow people to go out and start their own businesses if they didn’t have to worry about health care. For a party that loves all these small businesses they certainly don’t want to help them out where it would really count.
Yep. These aren’t people who want to be rich in absolute terms. If they were presented a choice between a world where everybody has every material good their heart desires, or a world where most people have one bowl of rice a day and they get two, they’d pick the latter. They can’t enjoy what they have unless somebody…
But then someone else would build a road directly next to theirs and charge a slightly lower fee. CHECKMATE, you commie!
I’d love to see how those idiots actually dealt with 100% private toll roads. They probably fantasize that it would be cheaper... as if the owners of the roads wouldn’t squeeze every penny they could get from people.
Yeah, health insurance is just a subsidy system where the healthy and well off subsidize the sick and poor. Every other subsidy system is run by the government but health insurance has to be run by multiple private companies (most of which are for profit.) It makes no sense.
The rub is that some of those true capitalists are currently in the business of providing health care or health insurance. Moving to a single payer system will make those specific capitalists worse off. So they spend a lot lobbying.
