It's so gloriously raw and sexy... I do prefer the 288 GTO (Hey, I was born in 1983, I can't help it). Anyhow, I picked up a free kitten at a trailer house this past summer with a 348 sitting on blocks of wood and a couple rims in the driveway... I'm not joking. I tried to buy it. It sadly wasn't happening.

If money weren't a deciding factor, I'd get this and I'd get an early 2000's New Beetle... and a rear engined beast would be born after a few thousand hours of fabricating.

If you've ever tried to have an actual conversation with him, well... I'm just gonna say it.

A lot.

I don't think there are any left, but my first car was a 1986 Dodge Daytona (non turbo). It looked like a sports car and had all the aggressive performance of a K Car. Parts were cheap, I proved it was quite safe in frontal collisions, and it was cheap to insure!

The current generation Jetta should have just been a new, entry level model (remember the Fox?). They sell like CRAZY, but they aren't the premium-ish small sedan many people loved.

What about the Tru-Kote? They install that at the factory, ya know.

Try the Canadian market, it's even worse! I don't even think we can get colors any more, just Toyota-like shades! I was in the US and saw a red Jetta. RED!!!

I thought you meant Pierce Brosnan, not the Z8. My bad.

(Ok... I trudged through the bad song and really enjoyed the video.)

Ugh. That fucking song.

My 7 day old VW was hit by a transport tire on this exact stretch of highway in the summer of 2000. The car still survives to this day.

I agree. It's pretty non-offensive. I'd take it over a BMW crossover any day.

I disagree, quite strongly in fact.

That system actually goes way beyond light control- the light sensor is also able to detect the angle of sunlight in higher end models and adjust the HVAC system accordingly to keep interior temps consistent (for example, if it detects more sunlight on the passenger's side than the driver's, it will drop the passenger

Even worse are cars that don't have automatic lights, but the gauge cluster lights up when the car is started- the dark cluster is what generally reminds drivers to turn their lights on if not being able to see doesn't remind them.

Who is this mysterious "Jason D"?

Post of the year?

That's actually a good looking car with the skirts removed.

As someone who worked in the North American rally scene full time for more than a few years- North American rally is dead. It's become a sport for the rich- why should a 2wD car with 95 horsepower have the same safety requirements as an open class car with AWD and 400 horsepower? The guy in the '95 Golf isn't going to
