She modeled a demo lesson for us and all I thought was, "If I just have to do better than her, I've got an A locked down".

That's just so counterproductive! I loved sociology when I took it, but I also really liked my professor. ALSO: Three hours twice a week? I have once a week classes that don't meet that long, I don't know how you do it.

Thank you! I'm just grateful this is the only class I'm having trouble with.

This professor has changed our schedule multiple times and it's still not correct. I'm currently scheduled to teach a demo lesson on a day we don't even have class!

It looks like there is! Now to hope that she's available for summer/fall (or that something gets done about this professor soon).

Ugh, they both sound awful. I don't think I've ever had a professor who was flat out mean/rude, just ones that were varying degrees of useless. I had a couple who were unfair, but that came through more in grading than in classroom behavior.

Most of mine are good (education is the biggest program at my school), but the ones that are bad are the worst. This one is just a big unorganized mess. I was talking about it with one of my friends, and we agreed that it's like she's trying to check off a list...only she's not actually spending any time on anything,

By far one of the best things a professor can do (in my opinion) is provide an accurate, appropriate schedule and stick to it. Rubrics are helpful too, but I could be biased thanks to the current approach to assessment. I like knowing what's going to happen!

Oh my god, that sounds like a damn nightmare. Seriously, how do these people get hired?

I sent a BlackBoard message asking whether it's in a folder or on the syllabus (she likes to edit the 41-page syllabus rather than upload documents for some reason), but no response yet, even though it's the only way we're supposed to contact her. I've had a few iffy professors and a lot of amazing ones, but she is

Thanks! I've already considered dropping the class, but I need to meet with my advisor to see if it's even feasible. That and I've been creeping all over the course listings to see if she's the only professor who teaches that course-a lot of the ed professors have certain classes that only they teach. Since she's

Ugh. I had one professor who was kind of like that last semester. It took me getting a C on the first test to figure out what she even wanted from us, and then I had to drag my average up from there. I suspect you're right with the whole hard test/crappy teacher thing. Good luck with your semester!

Thanks for this! This could be very useful, especially since not a single person in the class likes it/knows what's going on. I'm one of at least five people who've already stated that she is NOT getting a kind review at the end of the semester (but she will be getting a fair one).

I don't understand how these people even have jobs! Mine does this whole "This is a demonstration of what you have to do!" act and then proceeds to not show us a single valid thing.

This was the song we used for dance team tryouts at the end of my freshman year! We had floor work and everything, we felt so cool.

Has anyone else had just an absolutely shit professor? I have one who is just horrible, and three weeks into the semester I'm already dreading her class. For an education professor, she has no damn idea how to run a class. We're already two weeks behind and she hasn't uploaded a form we have to fill out and turn in

Oh my god, Full Dark, No Stars. You are so right with that one.

Yeah, I'm 5' 1" and 130 (dropped about 20 pounds over the last year though), and I'm really happy with where I'm at right now, even if my BMI isn't perfect. I did recently have someone tell me I'm looking "rexy", which is bullshit on so many levels.

My old apartment had ledges that were big enough for sitting in the shower. I miss it so.

South Texas! It's been just warm enough that I need to cool down my apartment at night, but tomorrow it's back to the 40s, ugh.
