Thank you! I just tried it out and it covers up the wind well enough that it shouldn't wake me up, fingers crossed!

Bleh, this weather is bringing me down. It was nice and sunny today, but the wind is kicking up now. This means I'll be waking up every time the AC kicks off (it makes a surprising amount of background noise) because of the howling around my building. Does anyone have any recommendations for a white noise website or

In USD they come out to about $75, standard shipping is free, and no duty unless it's over $200! Some of them do run a little bit pricier though, I think depending on the print/material. At any rate, there's a few of my own pics roaming around the site. (I'm waiting on my latest order now, must buy ALL the Black

"Slightly haunted" describes my parent's house pretty well. I always have an air filter running at night, plus tv or music, because of weird sounds. Like people are talking in the living room or a radio is playing in the wee hours of the morning. It's muffled enough that there are no distinct words and I ruled out

Pretty happy that the ones I go to won't be closing. Their petites section has some shirts that I actually like and that I can hang onto through student teaching/real teaching one day. Buy all the appropriate shirts!

Oh yeah, no, I definitely wore like, jeans and a hoodie when I went outside. I do NOT miss the buckets of rain at all, my god. That was the only place I've ever lived where I made sure I had an umbrella in my bag at all times in case of downpours.

I was in Sharp that year! I'm from Texas but I spend a good deal of time up north, so my Florida roomie was freaking out and I was like...it's going to be so cold walking to Bruff.

Just got in a fight with my dad about his drinking and he basically told me that if we (me and my mom) really wanted him to stop then we would just shut up and quit wanting him to do anything for us, then told me I had no idea what he's given up for us and never would. My mom can't back me up because he'll just use

Thanks for the tip! My wallet is going to regret it but I don't care.

And now I'm extra jealous. That holo!! I'm not ashamed to say I would do horrible things to get my hands on any of their polishes.

I'm drooling over my Different Dimension Cyber Monday order right now. Missi's polishes are hard to top, but Ethereal Lacquer is probably my favorite indie brand. I spent way too much money with all the sales the last few weeks and I don't even care.

I got it during Black Friday sales and it's AMAZING.

This reminds me of the time my ex dumped me for a girl I later realized was a senior in high school. He went to prom with her and all of that. Considering I had just turned 23 and he's older than me...ugh.

Counting down the hours until I'm done with studying/finals and can actually go home. I realized that, thanks to summer school, I've been occupied with classes for forty four weeks this year. Tuesday afternoon cannot come soon enough.

I'm half white/half Mexican-American and I've had people fight with me over which of my parents is white. Apparently my dad being super tan from yardwork (and therefore darker than my mom) means that he must be Mexican. I just kind of roll my eyes and point out that I do indeed have his last name, which is blatantly

My little cousin has these things and the clothes are like, soft plastic/vinyl and are either completely open in the back or have a slit so you can actually get them on the dolls. I'm not too fond of them, the dolls have stabby little arms too.

What's wrong with American Girl dolls? I loved my Josefina doll. She came with books!

I had the shell one that was a waterpark AND YOU COULD MAKE THE WATER MOVE IN THE LAZY RIVER. I'm going to go looking for it when I get home for Christmas.

Don't you just love the whole "You look white, so no one ever treats you differently!" attitude? Instead we just get it from...everywhere. I'll definitely look into that book, it sound like something I'll appreciate!

Almost! My hometown is in that stretch between San Antonio and Laredo...so I'm counting that as almost. I will say I didn't have it as bad as you do, your experience sound horrible and I'm sorry for that. Sometimes I really can't believe the deal of internalized prejudice that Hispanics carry within our own culture.
