THe intern often has to pay for the credit. So not only is s/he not paid for the internship but also incurrs a cost outside of the lack of income from the internship.

Why do you believe that interns should be required to gain college credit for their internship? To me that's the most exploitive thing at all, because not only are you (the company) receiving the benefit of my labor, but I am paying to do it in the form of college tuition when a highly educated professor should be

I long for thigh gap because I'm sick to death of my jeans wearing out and the firey rashes of death that come from trying to wear skirts without stockings or spanx. And the stockings/spanx just give me welts half the time, anyway.

I long ago realized that a worldview that includes both the notion of the "soul" and life beginning at conception actually creates a really disturbing universe. (I like to think out the ramifications of certain worldviews, for fun.)

I wonder what happened to all of those "You need to respect the Commander in Chief!" folk that were oh so vocal when Bush was president. Have they been kidnapped? Did a plague kill them off? A meteor? Why are more scientists not working on this?

The results are a lot better than I thought they would be.

It was all those things for me. A milestone in my understanding of the world. I grew up in the American South. That book changed the way that I viewed my world and Southern racial politics. It was not just an enjoyable read.
