Archie's singing/music was godawful but I stayed for Jughead. I like em brooding and neurotic tyvm

So far, I have enjoyed:

I don't see the similarities - aside from the basic dystopia imagery and a female protagonist. This show is already so much more hardcore than The Hunger Games ever was.

Exactly. "Tech-bros" are a definite thing (and we've seen plenty of them already within the context of the show) so Bryce's argument didn't hold any water.

It got so good! The segment where they try to stimulate her right brain only killlled me.

My fiancee is not very familiar w/ Ewan at all. During the pilot, he thought Emmit's accent was unrealistic/bad but he thoroughly enjoyed Ray. I had to tell him that it was the same actor!

I saw your post from before and I like your interpretation and find it interesting. It definitely isn't how I read the scene, at least so far - I don't think Paige has it in her to be a spy like her parents, but I do think that reading Pastor Tim's diary probably hurt her and that she wanted some kind of revenge,

The fact that he cast himself as a character who uses the N-word repeatedly… not a good look.

ITA w/ you about Paige's motives. I was offended as hell when I read them. I know she has had some growing pains when it comes to her spy training, but she's also a teenager, full of emotions - if the teenage me had read that shit, I would want revenge. And knowing that my parents are powerful spies? Yep.

Ooh I didn't know that! Thanks for the response :)

It's short for "Eddard" which is weird but no weirder Bob being sort for Robert. LOL Now I'm imagining Robert Baratheon going by "Bob"

"This is Peppermint"

When I was a teenager, I'd get all the subversive movies I could find from the independent video store and watch them in my living room because it was the only TV we had. My mom was INCREDIBLY disturbed by the chicken scene and had to leave the room. I felt bad for that poor actress, but like, I also rented Salo so I

Sometimes Divine was two characters in a scene too! It's by far my favorite too.

I love this show. Watching an episode of this after The Handmaid's Tale is like, necessary for my mental health. It is total mood whiplash - and I love both shows dearly - but this one at least makes me feel better about the state of the world after watching it. Sometimes I need a little bit of earnest hope.

There is something about female camaraderie that always moves me. I was crying too.

My fiancee dislikes Andy Samburg (and especially hates Lonely Island) but he loves this show and even likes his character. I'd say it's definitely worth the watch! It's a fantastic ensemble.

I just finished binging this show and I am officially obsessed. All of the main characters feel like real people and I root for all of them in different ways. I really hope we get a second season!

I thought his voice was kind of funny and it *almost* took me out of it. It seemed so ludicrous for someone so menacing to have that voice idk. But it was a good choice in casting, really, now that I've had time to ruminate on it.

Eep. I would never defend Scientology - but I fully understand why someone who was raised in such a powerful cult would stay there. If your choice is stay or be totally excommunicated from your family, I think a lot of people would rather stay. I mean, certainly, let's talk about it, but I'm not going to hate on
