I have a theory that this show will end with the story of Barry being a hitman coming out (either he is dead or in prison) and Sally will “use it” and make another show about her life, this time about realizing she’s in a relationship with a hit man.

Came here to say this. Barry actually killed a couple Chechens after they killed Ryan. I did a rewatch of the series before this season to keep my mind fresh.

Yeah I definitely agree that the issue of sexuality is nuanced in Chasing Amy. I’ve known people who have come out of the closet, and then dated people of the opposite gender later in life, and in general I think people are starting to come around to the idea of sexual fluidity. I don’t feel like it was a male fantasy…

I kind of understand her need to describe her novels as something a little different like “speculative fiction.” I would argue that The Handmaid’s Tale is more speculative/dystopian.
