I am terrified that Trump will fabricate evidence or twist the situation around. The DOJ is now full of Trump loyalists, it would not surprise me if they claimed that warrants were issued under false pretenses or whatever.

Even if Obama took him to court, which would be a whole big thing on it’s own, they’d have to prove some sort of damages to Obama. Has this damaged Obama in any way? Just doesn’t seem like it would be worth the trouble other than to make yet another point that won’t land with the people it needs to land with.

So, question: is there an actual penalty if the DOJ/Trump don’t produce any evidence? Any legal ones?

I am hoping that Trump is correct: that there is an active investigation into Trump, with warrants and wiretaps and charges coming soon. I’d love to see that happen.
