How about David Lynch for a replacement? After all, there are many machines on Ix.

Indeed. There wasn’t a brain in its pretty little head, but what it did, it did very well: entertain. My 15 year old and I went to see it and we both had a great time.

I loved K:SI, and Vogt-Roberts is/was dead-on in his addressing of CinemaSins idiocy. There’s constructive criticism, there’s goofy ribbing and then there’s just mean-spirited, hollow needling that says nothing and benefits no one, and CinemaSins fits definitively in that last category.

I like Jordan Vogt-Roberts. And Kong Skull Island was dumb fun.

By all accounts it seems Ep VIII was smooth and Rian Johnson seems to get along with Lucasfilm

Maybe Rian Johnson is a fit at Star Wars like the Bros Russo are a fit for Marvel and they are just going to let him handle the flagship films for the foreseeable future...

They are just going to pay Ron Howard to live at Pine Wood Studios and direct Star Wars movies from here on out. All Ron Howard, all the time. It will all be pretty good. Not great, but pretty good.

Wooohoo! Now, Lucasfilm/Disney, please get George Miller to helm this.

This science fiction film uses fictional science! It’s an outrage!

I came here for photos of people without pants.

Goldblum is like Christopher Walken in that he has has a unique voice with a hypnotic tone and rhythm. Anything he talks about immediately captures your attention.

Dog bless Cher and Bette Midler — constantly trashing reactionary assholes on Twitter.

And it’s a fantastic idea. All these refutations (conspiracy theory? What conspiracy?) are at least as old as the film. Like most sci-fi people need to stop thinking it should be a documentary and, as long as it keeps to its own internal logic consistent, people need to lighten up.

The “mosquito in amber” idea dates back to the 60s or 70s, I think, and was mostly out-of-date by the time the book came out. Crichton also put Deinonychuses in it and called them Velociraptors because he liked the name better.

Totally agreed. Williams is the best, and he really nailed Jurassic Park. I wonder what Spielberg’s career would have been like without Williams. ET, Jaws, Jurassic Park, even Hook (I love the theme for Hook) are really intertwined with the scores.

Still one of the greatest movie themes of all time, though. (I’d put it in the top 5, personally.)

You mean we can’t actually recreate dinosaurs from the DNA of mosquitoes trapped in amber? You have just turned my entire conception of the universe upside down. I have to go now and contemplate my place in the world.

Just looking at the scene for what’s there, it’s not pointless at all. That was the face of the man who raped her, if not the man himself, so it doesn’t surprise me that she covered it with her hands. It was an extremely vulnerable, uncomfortable scene, as it should have been and illuminated Diane’s psychology

Personally, I think I really loved the ending. What was Twin Peaks about? Strip away all the lunacy and what was it about? It was about a dead girl and the FBI agent trying to solve her murder and thus symbolically save her.

I UNDERSTAND CELL PHONES NOW
