You deserve more credit (and no debits).

Double-entry accounting, pal.

How did he even find time for this during tax season?!?!

he gave a performance that will go down in the quickbooks.

That scene seems very realistic and relatable to me. She’s got tons of stress over her daughter’s situation, and here she finds an outlet for it. The heckler deserves the lash-back, but really she’s just aiming all her frustrated anger at a different, deserving target.

I mean, on the plus side, he wasn’t rewarded with a relationship with her just for staying in her life during the coma. The movie ends with her surprising him at one of his shows in NYC, not their wedding. So...there’s that little victory.

It’s the journey, not the destination.  Sure, we know she’s going to live (even if it wasn’t based on a true story, c’mon it’s Hollywood.   Or Amazon), the film is less about waiting for her to wake up and more about Nanjiani’s growth as a person in the interim.

Kazan is wonderful, and a wonderful fit for grounded romantic comedies, and hasn’t quite found the perfect one yet. This one, as Caroline points out, is from a male point of view and as much about their families as the ostensible female lead; Ruby Sparks is more a deconstruction, and while I admire what it’s trying to

It really was a great little movie. I hope this column reviews some more Zoe Kazan stuff too.

So, she knows she’s lying. Nice one. Micro-expressions are gold.

It is both. She knows she will be lying and therefore won’t need to bother with facts like someone making an actual argument. All she has to do is research some tidbits to twist, like saying “Census” when it should be “American Community Survey”. She knows, and the administration knows, that their rabid supporters

I assume that making fun of Spicer was easy for one of the same reasons why it is easy to make fun of Trump: Spicer threw tantrums. There’s lively energy in there, albeit misdirected. Sanders is Bitter Teflon.

I highly doubt that she is much fun to be around in her immediate personal space, either. I’d imagine that lying and deflecting responsibility all day long carries over into one’s private life. And she is bitter. This woman oozes negativity. If she were not in the political position she’s in, I picture her as the

It’s not spin.

The right wing “meritocracy” will take care of her just fine, don’t you worry.

...just because you guys continue to ask the same question over and over and over again doesn’t mean we that have to keep coming up with new things to say.

I feel like she’s powered by bad days, though. Like she wakes up, does her Two Minutes Hate, and then does her best to remain disdainful of the world outside her immediate personal space for the next 12 hours, otherwise she starts getting tired.

Her mouth cannot form normal human-mouth shapes. It’s very odd.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders is a very bad person.
