Ha! You Must Remember This is the Hollywood podcast I eluded to above. I love it. I liked the Charles Manson series.

My college roommate was from Katy, TX, and she is 0% like the people you describe. So there are still some good ones out there. :)
Sometimes I Google things like “50 Best Podcasts” and just read the descriptions to decide what I’ll like. Now I subscribe to about 10, ranging in topics from true crime to comedy to American history to old Hollywood movie stars to linguistics/grammar to feminism to tech. There are podcasts for all interests. You will…
I had a friend from Glens Falls. That was nice.
Me too. I really hope Pam is right.
I binge-watched all of season 2 last week, and I’ve already forgotten the finale you speak of. I did love the season though, so there’s that. *shrug emoji*
My mom is a beautiful silver as well. She’s 70 but looks 60. Gorgeous.
The county in which I grew up, the county in which I attended college, and the county in which I currently live are all blue. This makes me happy.
I actually think “The Drop” qualifies as a “good” movie. It has a menacing tone, a cute pup, a nice girl, Tom Hardy, James Gandolfini, and was written by the “Mystic River” guy (Dennis Lehane). Good stuff.
I LOVE “Sense8.” Binge-watched Season 2 this weekend. I laugh; I cry. The relationships among these characters give me life. Sun is my favorite.
I “follow[ed] [my] passion”—midlife—into teaching a year ago, and it very nearly killed me. So...that can also happen.
I re-read the book this week because I had some time. I don’t love the writing but the story is good, so I’m looking forward to the TV adaptation. Most advanced critics’ reviews have been very positive.
I watched “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” last night, and this (administration) seems like the same kind of surrealist nonsense David Lynch was peddling. No reason to exist whatsoever.
Sending love. And science. And prayer.
Still better than Toonces.
Does this even make sense? Doesn’t “baja” mean “low” or “below?” California would be Baja Canada.
OMG, the spoon question. This is my dad precisely. He’s on an eternal quest for tinier and tinier spoons for JUST THIS SORT of cooking/caper-retrieving task. Currently, he’s using a tiny yellow plastic one. He makes multiple-times-a-week jaunts to thrift stores hoping to discover the VERY THING he’s looking for. He…
How is a “C” vertically symmetrical? Wouldn’t that mean symmetrical along the vertical axis, which a “C” is not? If you draw a vertical line (a y-axis) with a “C” on one side and then flip it across that axis, the letter would not appear the same. Whereas along the horizontal axis (the x-axis), it would be. (Clearly,…
This is my mom, too. She never listens to me. I have become a bit of an interrupter if only to get a word in around her. It’s annoying—and I don’t want to be THAT person (even as a woman).
Counterpoint: We ARE dumb. [Insert any random group of Trump supporters. They, however, would not be down with this ad—but for all the wrong reasons.]
