Ten years, wow. It feels like maybe Heath Ledger was a bellweather for the opiod epidemic to come. I miss his great talent.

Agreed. I sat behind two actors at a recent NCAA basketball game. I bothered (nor photographed) neither one of them. Incidentally, this is the same game at the Garden Katie Holmes attended (the Jumbotron found her), but she wasn’t sitting by me. I also walked passed Aaron Rodgers (Jumbotron found him too) outside at,

Agreed. I’ve seen this go down in person. I used to work on book covers. People either get ignored by bosses who think they know it all (and no one else knows anything). Or, alternatively, a boss without true leadership skills tries to accomodate EVERYONE’S opinions, and you get a watered-down smattering of things

Or make it happen. Elton John certainly has the dough.

I hate his lyric “I’m in love with your body.” Like, really? That’s the best you can do, Ed? It’s so degrading. (Just my 2 cents.)

The Rays sold out this afternoon—and won the game—so how can you be sad? At least not today. Plus, I’m sure you know how many people here live on a fixed income. It really pisses me off when folks in NY (and elsewhere) rag on the St. Pete/Tampa area for not supporting their team. There is tons of local support, just

This is a hard one to answer. I hate annoying people—and constant talk would be annoying—but at the same time it’s a public space (and not a play or concert or anything where rapt attention would be expected), so...I don’t know. ???

Massages (regardless of your reasons) are amazing, and I highly recommend. I have several friends who left their “regular” jobs to become LMTs (licensed massage therapists), and all of them love their clients and the positive change in their lives. One owns her own business adjacent to a yoga studio, so it’s mutually

Bronte sisters are good as well. And gothic horror by Daphne du Maurier. I also like Edith Wharton. If you like Henry James, you’ll probably like Edith Wharton too.

I really liked “The Newsroom” despite it having the typical Aaron Sorkin problems (like its flighty women characters and its preachiness). Great idea for a show though (past news written as breaking news—and all the places that takes us). It’s worth a watch.

I don’t think NPR makes up investigative reporting. It’s one of the last news organizations with real integrity.

Uh, because she suggested mutilation of a dead body? “Cut the nipples off” is a bit extreme, yes?

The last two episodes really blew me away. As for John as a caretaker, well, he DID allow his mom to stay in her longtime (childhood?) home, but his constant negativity had to take a toll on anyone. However, what do we really know about Mary Grace’s “improved” situation at the end? It’s coming from Rita. Who knows if

The things we learned in Episode 6 or 7 (I forget) about the “cutting” really floored me. It changed my whole perspective on the John-Tyler relationship.

Seconding. Or thirding—or whatever. I need a place where people talk about S-Town. It was really something.

Why is complete spelled “compleat” in this headline? Am I missing the joke? I’m a little to Trumped-out today to read yet another article on this carnival of misfit assholes, so maybe I am. Help.

I taught middle school last year (8th grade). My advice is to communicate with your son’s homeroom teacher. Have her (or him) keep an eye on your oldest. Inform the teacher he’s new to the school and you just want some eyes & ears on how he’s getting along—so you can be looped in if it seems like he’s having trouble

I never hated my mom (or dad) as a teenager, so it doesn’t happen to everyone. Keep on keeping on.

Oh, and Kushner’s also got 3 kids to raise. Let’s not forget that responsibility as well.
