Pork Invaders! I remember playing that. It was kind of dumb, but I had to laugh at the thought of McCain’s younger campaign staff members explaining what they did.

She has expressed more than a willingness to sign a debt ceiling deal and lock us into austerity politics for decades to come.

I think Clinton will beat Cruz. He’s an extremist on so many issues that the attack ads practically write themselves. Rubio might be harder, but I’ve always gotten the impression that he’s in over his head, so he’ll probably screw himself over somehow.

In a lot of ways, Rubio reminds me of Romney. Which doesn’t bode

Speaking as an “Obama Boy,” this was absolutely a real thing. There was a ton of sexism aimed at Clinton during the 2008 election, and not all of it came from the right.

A more substantial complaint I have is for a certain brand of Berner who simply can’t accept that their chosen politician is, notably, a politician.

I think she might just be angry, and angry people tend to say stupid things with more force than they would if they took some time to think about it.

Bill Clinton’s abhorrent policies regarding mass-incarceration led to the destruction of many women’s and their families’s lives.

I disagree. There should always be a draft, and not just for emergencies. If the draft were used more frequently, people would understand the consequences of war. We wouldn’t just rush to send someone else’s kids overseas any time some other country annoys us.

We have no idea if that is true, because the Republican campaign against him has not begun. Again, those are exactly the kinds of voters who can be easily swayed by attack ads.

I feel like the term “flip-flop” gets misused. To me, flip-flopping is when you say something to one group of people and then say the opposite to another group the next day.

To be fair, some 70s Republicans were fairly liberal, even by modern standards. That party really has gone to hell...

Bernie actually polls better against many GOP candidates than Hillary.

Are Clinton’s economic policies that conservative? She has a reputation as a hawk on foreign policy, but I’ve generally found that she lines up with the bulk of her party on most economic issues.

I largely agree. I’d add that the issue of excess military spending won’t be solved without a progressive Congress anyway.

It’s hard to compare this primary to the Obama-Clinton race in 2008 because social media has grown so much this then.

What bothers me about the use of the word “gentrification” is that it’s actually really difficult to study, and there’s still a lot we don’t know about its effects.

Some people seem to think that if they keep loaded guns they don’t need to lock their doors, because they can defend themselves. Of course, what they’re actually doing is begging people to steal their guns while they’re away/asleep.

The people who lived in that building probably have no problem holding the door for strangers, assuming they belong there. It only takes one mistake to lead to a tragedy.

Why do so many countries, the US included, do everything to get on China’s good side? Instead of, I don’t know, being on the side of democratic Taiwan, where you can google Tiananmen square without disappearing the next day?

I dream of having proportional representation in the House, but that’s a tall order, politically.
