Pretty sure "the Dot" refers to Dorchester, not Downtown Crossing.

...Dot cracks? Where were those?
It still doesn't make sense. Even decades ago, you had to work to get through college, and often that meant working low wage service jobs.
Kinda made me more interested in trying it, to be honest.
“I have seen people purchasing filet mignons and crab legs with their EBT cards,” he said.
“Boston” is not the same thing as “New England.” There are quite a few other cities in New England. And man, you just keep relying on anecdotal evidence, don’t you? After all this, you still haven’t figured out my problem with your argument.
It’s just frustrating because our over reliance on local funding for local services is such a huge contributor to inequality, yet almost no one talks about it because the basic system has been in place for so long. Rather than explore other options, we have people like LePage try to double down.
And also, he’s basically guaranteeing that wealthy towns will have excellent services and reasonable tax rates, while poorer towns will get screwed.
Paul LePage is one of the worst governors in America, and it’s really unfortunate that Maine’s absurd election system allowed him to get elected twice while only capturing about one-third of the vote each time.
Holy shit, let’s go through this point by point:
Congrats for finding two racist people. I’m sure I couldn’t do that in any other major city.
That might be it. I’ve never noticed any lag between my game pad screen and the TV. That was one of the first things I looked for when I bought the system.
Yeah, Southie is a different beast. That’s where you can find the most white old-timers (as opposed to the white college students you might find elsewhere). Southie is changing, just slower than the rest of the city.
Man, I can’t believe it’s been ten years since I played Super Mario 64 DS. Also, I can’t believe I played through that whole game on the original DS d-pad. Oh, to be young and have no standards.
Yeah, I didn’t notice anything either when I played a few levels with the Pro Controller last night. And I played through Super Metroid on both the gamepad and on the TV, and I don’t remember missing any more jumps on the latter.
Oh come on now, leave Boston alone. Most of the Herald writers don’t actually live in the city. They live in cozy suburbs where they exist in perpetual fear of scary black people that they never actually encounter.
I think firefighter salaries can vary drastically based on area. Around where I live, cities pay their firefighters really well, but I also know of smaller towns with volunteer departments. It’s a mixed bag.
I'll grant you that Coakley's comment about being out in the cold didn't help her. I'd like to think that more people were motivated by the fate of the ACA than whatever she said about the fucking Red Sox. Unfortunately, I'm probably wrong.
Republicans running for governor in Massachusetts tend to get a slight boost because people get so frustrated with the heavily Democratic legislature. Plus, Baker ran as much more of a moderate this time around when compared to his failure in 2010.
Oh, totally. I remember when Scott Brown kept snidely referring to Elizabeth Warren as "Professor Warren" in the run up to the election, and it confused a lot of out-of-state liberals. Why does he think "professor" is a bad word in Massachusetts? they asked. Because not everyone in this state lives in Cambridge.
