It was a low turnout special election on a day with terrible weather, at a time when conservatives (and quite a few moderates) saw Brown as their only chance to stop Obamacare. It was more of an uphill battle for Coakley than a lot of people

Hey now, Coakley was a good Attorney General too. She was just terrible at campaigning in general elections. Healey is pretty great, though.

Honestly, in most parts of the U.S. (where violent crime has dropped fairly uniformly for the past two decades) robberies generally don't involve murder. That's why the rate of break-ins is far higher than the murder rate.
