I am bot a fan and yet it resonated with me. Sci-fi and CoD’s general mechanics are a good match. It was the first tempting CoD in many years.

Just because there is something worse, doesn’t mean something can’t be bad.
The game doesn’t try to push you anywhere. it’s a natural reaction. The empire occupies Skyrim and they have banned one of the local gods, because some Thalmor fundamentalists demanded it. The only reason to dislike the Stormcloacks, is that Ulfric Stormcock is a huge prick.
Maybe I’m too harsh, but I knew the game was in for a rough ride, when I searched the settings for a duck/crouch button and found none. I also faintly remember an interview with one of the designers, where he said crouching in shooters was something he wanted to get rid of anyway. I would agree for games like Unreal,…
2010 was an abomination.
When I read “Resident Evil 7's Secret...” I was about to kick Kotaku out of my feed list, as I do with every site that spoils RE7 content while I’m not through the game yet, but when I had the conf file open in another terminal my brain finished processing the rest of the sentence I had tried not to read.
I don’t understand any of the complaints. It’s not the first JRPG to have a lengthy weird solo scene that turns the normal gameplay inside out, it’s not even the first FF. When I played the chapter, I wondered whether it had already been patched, because it was hard to believe, that complaints about this section had…
There have been a lot of stealth sequences in a lot of JRPGs. It’s no different here, it’s in a few passages of the game, it’s entirely optional and it’s subtle. In fact, ignoring the stealth and running in guns blazing will grant you the more interesting battle in all but one of the scenes.
I have recently started playing Overwatch, that was an aha moment.
I think it’s first and foremost the fact, that it’s a well made game, that fills a niche only occupied by team fortress at the moment. There are not many good games like this and Team Fortress is quite old.
Both. Hype makes no sense, but judging from your post, you have trouble understanding why it seems to exist against all sane logic.
Can you construct the type of hype you would understand?
The premise is not sufficient for your conclusion.
I wonder when this game will finally be finished. This form of early access is going a bit too far.
Effort is often equivalent to quality.
When the USA manages to turn that into a fact of life instead of a punchline, the rest of the world will be deeply impressed and follow the lead.
Bah. Meta talk. Watch two videos, an old one and a new one, form your own opinion. That’s easy.
I don’t find the new Doom to be that stellar to look at. It looks and runs nice, but it still suffers from bad looking wet spots. Everything that’s wet in this game looks like it’s made of glass.
If they are not made for killing, why do they have the perfect shape and size to block both respiratory paths at the same time?
“More hommage than remake” was to be expected. Diablo 1 and 3 are fundamentally different games. D3 doesn’t feel like a dungeon crawler, but like a dungeon booster, at least in the endgame. I can’t remember the last time I used the standard attack of my Demon Hunter. They even added wings that look like something from…
