I actually tried to play the RE remake with the modern controls. The static camera kept killing me in those U shaped corridors full of zombies. I went back to tank controls and never bothered again.
I lost interest in the series for a long time because of RE4. It was a solid game, but not what I wanted, when I bought Resident Evil. I’m a bit more relaxed these days, the benefit of losing interest: You can enjoy a game without expecting anything.
It’s a shitty “classic” Resident Evil, but it’s a solid action shooter, especially co-op, if you can get over the fact, that they buried the entire action-adventure genre under a pile of shooters with the success of that game.

Besides proper AA, resolutions other than 16:9, framerates other than 60, achievements with game fixing mods. The only thing it can do better, is allocating RAM, which it can indeed to 32x better.

I will not buy this game, until they are done with the DLC idiocy and I can see how annoying it will exactly be. I suspect that will be in 2019, when they decide to release it on Steam all inclusive for 40 bucks. I can wait.
