Male healthcare workers raping female patients is in no way equivalent to employees getting pregnant. Let’s not compare apples with oranges.

Hey, I’m criticizing the policy too, so don’t trip over all that edge. Why is it that so many people who respond to me here try to put words in my mouth? Why can’t you just engage with that I actually said?

I mean, yeah. It was a rhetorical question. I’m not suggesting that men shouldn’t be able to have jobs, not really. I’m just highlighting the fact that their presence is often a burden in situations where they have to be monitored at all times.

“If a male staff needs to enter a female room, they need to bring in a female employee with them.”

The GF had it right. They let this escalate, the police are going to shoot at them first and Knifey McWhitey gets the benefit of the doubt.

Definitely deserved it. But then this fool and those like her would use it as an example of, “See how violent they are? It wasn’t an assault; it was preemptive self-defense! I knew they were *going* to be violent. So I was right all along.” And you know enough people would buy it to make it a problem. :-(

Black folks are rarely afforded the privilege of self defense.

Thank you! I’m moving in a few months and I’d be more comfortable with some distance, so I may eventually get in touch out of the blue. I also have an important life situation that I’m concerned they’d have the power to fuck with if I went public too soon. The thing is, they’re so underhanded, they’d screw someone

If you change your mind, my email is anna.merlan@jezebel.com.

In the early aughts, I was a freelance journalist in a major US city. The Church of Scientology had just set up it’s “learning centers” in low-income areas where they’d indoctrinate immigrant kids and then rope in the parents. I decided to do an investigative story about this, and it was to run in a two-part series in

and while we're at it, the people acting all horny are the guys. They are the ones calling false advertising, discrediting a woman's work because they are pretty and whatever else. Maybe instead of blaming the woman you take a look around you and consider whether you really want to be a part of that crowd. Because if

well we could talk about the representation of women in video games, but that ends in harassment and rape threats. There is no pleasing some people and women will always be demonised whatever they do.

Let me be clear. You are a fool, an idiot, and piece of garbage. You are welcome for my incredible restraint in my language.

Yes, I'm sure she's spent hundreds/thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of time to cosplay just to meet a man and not because, I dunno, she simply likes to make or wear cosplay and enjoys the subject matter.

she's cosplaying, not going on a date. The only people implying that are some dudes on the internet who have decided that a woman existing in a public space is therefore clearly there to display herself to potential mates. I'll say it again: COSPLAY. She is literally there to misrepresent her identity.

So? If she can make a career out of cosplaying fair play to her - she clearly has talent. My point still stands: what is on display here is her talent, not her body.

If your sentence is ever going to start with "Not to be that guy but..." or " Not to be sexist but..." or "Not to be racist but...", then just stop right there and rethink your life choices.

There's so many layers to this I almost want to make it a research project. The multiple assumptions and depth of ignorance behind your questions and assertions is fascinating.

"Wait, you don't have big boobs AND you're not actually [insert large-breasted anime character here]?! False advertising!"

The dude can always just f*ck the costume, if it's so damn important to him.
