It’s amazingly tone-deaf to argue that a show created by a guy whose humor is 50% racial and gender stereotypes is somehow “truer” to Star Trek, which was famously the most progressive and inclusive American TV show of the 1960's.

It also hits my pet peeve of casting women significantly younger than the male lead as love interests. Was no woman over 40 available? Clearly not.
