Perhaps live streaming services but I prefer the likes of Netflix/Prime/YT which are all as on-demand as DVR and don’t require even fast-forwarding to avoid ads. I did the FF thing for quite a long time and while way better than sitting through commercials, it was still annoying to do, not to mention nearly every time

If you moved near a live music venue, then they really don’t.

I drive racecars. You’d be amazed how many tracks have been closed down because shitheads buy a house next to a track and are aghast that there are racecar noises. Holds true for airports as well.

Same thing in Melbourne, Australia. People moving in across the street from live venues that have been there for 35 years and filing suits to the council about noise. Seriously: fuck the fuck off back to the suburbs.

Someone who feels entitled to not doing their fuckin’ homework and finding out what the neighborhood is actually like.

People are doing this lately in Nashville. Presumably they thought “Music City” was some kind of euphemism.

Masses of people moved into Virginia Beach, home to one of the largest Navy bases in the world and then complained about the jet noise.

I live in a rural area near a race track. Some new farmettes popped up, and people moved in and immediately started bitching about the noise. The noise they were fully aware of when they moved there. Local officials told them to fuck off. Shame that not every area can stand up to the professional whiners like that.

If music is rattling your apartment, then you should be complaining about the shittiness of your apartment. Not the notoriously loud concer venue that’s been there for 50 years.

Laguna Seca is seeing the same thing. The track has to curtail a lot of their events because people built new houses near it, then complain about the automobile noises.

I will admit that I get annoyed by the ice cream truck jingle too, but I get over it and go on with my life. I know that a lot of people are fine with it, and some are happy to hear it. It is almost as if living in a society occasionally requires us to tolerate things that are not for or about us. Weird, I know.

Don’t forget the theme music has also has gotten truncated, moved or becomes part of the advancing story.

People move to the country and build a large house then start bitching to the health department that the pig shit fertilizer is making them sick.

I’ve only been to Austin a single night (I was there for work) and on a Tuesday there was live music anywhere. Pretty mind blowing that someone would move to Austin and not know that this was the norm ahead of time.

If you’re gonna move to our neighborhood, you’re gonna conform to our way of life. Not the other way around.

That is the best part of living in the red river area! Your proximity to the night life venues. Who the fuck moves there for a quiet retreat?!

I used to live in Brazos lofts downtown and worked near fourth and congress. I loved the noise, loved the music and the crowds on sixth. It’s a part of living in a city, especially Austin. Fuck those people.

A big contributor as to why I didn’t sign up for cable the last time I moved was due to commercials. Adding more in just keeps solidifying that decision more and more. It’s like how they cancel tons of shows due to low ratings to the point where people are reluctant to watch new shows in fear of cancellation resulting

I don’t live in Austin, but seriously fuck these people. People who move into an established neighborhood and then complain about what’s already established are the worst of humanity.

Eh. Assholes be assholes. In Austin we’re dealing with the deluge of people moving into “the live music capital of the world’s” downtown area and complaining so hard about said live music the city enacts noice ordinances that within a year cause some of the most cherished venues in the city to either relocate or close.
