I’m fucking dying that that correction is real life. Who says journalism is dead?

I shared this on my Facebook first thing this morning. The way his voice goes all hoarse when he realizes who she is, is a thing of beauty.
You can tell by the officer’s voice when he realized who he pulled over that he got real scared real quick. He was practically hyperventilating as he was reciting his bullshit excuse about running her tags. When she snapped her fingers and asked for his card he got that info for her super quick.
It seems pretty clear to me he didn’t know who she was when he pulled her over. You can tell from how nervous he gets when he realizes.
Yeah...if that’s what Laura was going for then kudos, but if it was unintentional, then wow.
I mean, it’s wrong, but it ain’t incorrect.
I’ve been asking about that. I mean, the cop asks her what agency she’s with nearly immediately so he knows the reason her tags came back blank, right? Why else would he have asked that?
That headline...yikes.
Personally, I loved the cop saying “We run tags all the time, that’s how we find out if cars are stolen... Oh this car I’m driving isn’t my car.”
“See, we ran your tags and they came back totally clean, and you’re Black, so we just HAD to solve the mystery!”
Online commentators are already saying she deserved it, because her tag was blank (in FL, that means the driver is in a high-security level job, and it is a danger to them to have their personal info listed) and so was a criminal, her tint was too dark, and it’s perfectly legal to just run tags (in many states it…
The windows weren’t too dark to see a black lady driving a nice car.
As a native Pittsburgher, I feel like Detroit is where we were 10 years ago. You see it getting better, but the outside world hasn’t woken up to it yet. Wait another 5 years and the Times trend pieces will start rolling in.
Nobody is making any huge claims about the city as a whole other than you. Again, thriving isn’t a good word but dying isn’t either. And you’re big on the dying and denying anything anywhere has changed.
Nobody is saying “Detroit is really nice now.” They’re saying downtown is nice, which it is, and that that has largely spread to midtown, which it has. This story is about the downtown/midtown edge, so it’s relevant.
Have you seen the contracts Holland has given out? No three players on the team would be cheap enough to earn that name.
Render unto Little Caesar...
Your comment and a giant hunk of shit are a better match.
Thank you for pointing attention to this. As a metro-Detroiter and a lifelong Wings fan, seeing that roof rendering was at least an acceptable alternative to the Joe, already one of the coolest-named arenas in the country. Now we have this, another reminder of a billion dollar arena dedicated to selling $5 pizza. Fuck…
