F word on that.
F word on that.
OK so SJP has this side to her as an actress that is really appealing to me. She does both fluffy & snarky comedy quite well but in the midst of it she can turn on a dime and change something in her voice and her eyes and deliver a line with this soulfulness and depth that just guts me, man.
What a fucknuts. Good thing he’s so ravishingly handsome. (meoww!!)
The who and the what are still a thing?!!
A little gulag-y tho, no?! Thank God I adore Siberian Huskies so at least I have one a positive association with Siberia.
Hey, I crossed the Chinese countryside via train too! Xian to Beijing, and it was an overnight ride in a sleeper car. The opposite of romantic.. In fact it was horribly uncomfortable, with toilets to haunt one’s nightmares. My travel partners and I got blitzed on cheap Chinese schnapps—I’m talking jet fuel-grade…
Oh, I don’t mind it. I only dive-bomb the comments late in the evening or super-early in the morning (PST). I miss all the exciting action!
Greta Lee, she’s an actress:
She’s suuuuper-eccentric but I wonder if that’s a put-upon thing.
For what it’s worth (zilch, I suppose), I applaud your Sisyphean efforts to steer this thread toward less judgy and miserable waters, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
Shoot, it’s beautiful! They have beauty in Siberia? Well slap my ass and call me Sue! (Sorry, just trying to inject some levity here.)
Irkutsk is in Siberia! I know this because I read a book about the Bolshevik revolution.
Yikes.
I would be OK with outlawing any religion/cult with practices that undermine the basic fundaments of self-determination and human dignity. See: Sci3ntolocrap et al.
Your comment is eminently reasonable and I agree with what you wrote.
I don’t think I’m gonna hop on the French LexisNexis to research “court cases.”
If I start a religion that mandates all men must walk on all fours at all times, and be kept on a leash by women, how do you think society, culture and the government branches would react to that?
Must say I’d be much more on board with the burkini were it not SOLELY worn by women. Once men start donning the burkini—out of “cultural” reasons or religious modesty or whatever, we can talk. The way this issue is presented stateside evades the very simple fact that the French object not to the issue of covering…
They’re being a bit heavy-handed with forcing women out of their burkinis—hard to defend, unproductive way to go about things.
Well the film adaptation of The Science of the Lambs featured one of the strongest female leads in that genre, in Jodie Foster’s character.
